So, after multiple attempts to get a new password in order to use my old member account (3 emails to be exact), I have now given up and created a whole new account.

Not only is the forum a mess, but you can't even get a response to emails after two weeks of waiting. Any help would be appreciated, so can have my old account back and forget this one.

Contact an Admin with your new account. Ferryman sorted out a password for me the same day. I also had issues with changing my email address but it was again sorted very quickly by one of the developers, Pete I think...

You were lucky. I never received the activation mail for a new account either.

I did. I think it was only us "preferred members" that got one. maybe you need to behave a little better !!!

same here, old account...
(i'm guessing those who opened a new account were prompted by the auto email about the platform upgrade. i just ignored it - thinking will follow later if the old way did not work)

moreover, unlike the previous platform upgrades, i had not had a single problem logging in and somehow increased my post count by 200-300 don't care much, but would be interesting WHY ?

All previously deleted posts have been restored.

The only things migrated were the thread titles and posts and basic user details.

Deleted posts were not re-flagged as deleted.
Friends were not re-friended.
Foes were not re-foed.

for the regular users, ^^^those 3 may be of a varying significance...
personally, dont care much about the 'gained'/lost posts, certainly want my friends back and never had an ignore list..the resets to other personal/private features (signatures, pm options etc) are also easy to fix.

the real mess, if i was to logically extend the data migration shortfalls, must be the one MODS have to deal with...the infraction counts, bans, 'last-chancers' data etc all must be either have reset to zero or gone. the prisoners may have just gotten their amnesty and - before it is too late - are likely plotting on ruling the asylum

but since i dont really have any real knowledge, i could be wrong.

One of the biggest security updates we've made is to our forum. We've done this to protect forum members' data and improve the general look and feel. All the threads and posts from the original forum have been moved to the new forum, so you can continue using it as before.

Part of this upgrade requires you to create a new password to continue accessing the forum:

> Re-set your password here

This will give you a randomly generated password.

You will then then to go into your account settings and change it to something more memorable, that contains a mix of upper and lowercase characters and numbers.

If you have any feedback about the new forum, please share that with our web team using this feedback form.

I'm not receiving the auto email response when resetting the password. There seems to be some mysterious spam filter on my side that I can't locate, so I have had to create a new account. I've emailed admin.

An hour? Spam can sit for days and you're jumping up and down about an hour?

We mods aren't on 24/7. We remove the spam as soon as we can, but obviously it won't always be immediately.

I suppose I was being a bit stupid wanting it removed immidiatly. Most times it just goes as soon as I reload the forom.

Oddly enough, a number of spammers have been posting recently just about the time I turn the laptop on in the morning. So I can get them fairly quickly. However, since I no longer work full-time for Cyclingnews, I am spending significantly less time on-line, so I don't spot them so quicky at other times.

The other mods do post, as far as I know. I have chosen not to express my opinions publicly, since I am involved in the business, to maintain my neutrality and objectivity.
