Not sure why people expected more from a second tier sprinter, though. We all know why he won so many stages, and he changed teams, so...

He still has 5 wins already without the HTC machine. A lot of sprinters are doing worse than that.

All of them in shit small races. And some of them even from a breakaway.

I don't know... any sort of WT race? A race with any sort of competition rather than Van Hummel and Van Dijk?

You mean Tirreno-Adriatico where he crashed out, Tour of Oman, Tour of the Basque country where there are no sprints, Volta a Catalunya with strong competition field or Tour de Suisse where there were no normal sprints?

Ok

Gent-Wevelgem and KBK (I know that's not WT) were there for the taking and would have been good wins. But he came 4th and 3rd. They were won by a reluctant sprinter and a lead-out man. (And yes, Farrar underachieved too)

He was fastest at G-W, but as always he was placed bad. This is nothing new compared to previous years, so it can't disappoint you this season. If anything it shows he has the speed to beat the likes of Farrar.

Who cares about KBK? It's a small ****ty race to say it with the words of the youngest.

Which is exactly what I've been saying throughout this thread. Me saying I didn't rate him (and therefore wasn't disappointed) is what got us on to the topic of AG in the first pace.

No, Ricco should be ashamed of being such an a$$hole.

Is that a good reason to wish he should've died?

You guys are insane....

At G-W, yes.

But you can't compare that race to a pan flat stage at the Tour... where he will not have the speed to beat an on form Farrar.

Haussler 14 votes (more than Devolder:eek:)? How can anyone expect him to be in top shape in spring already, after an injury year?

Haussler. I made a comment early 2010 that I expected him to win a monument, then the injuries hit. I'm not saying I'm disappointed that he hasn't performed well or won; I understand it's a long road back. I'm disappointed that a year later he's still barely a fraction of the 2009 form. I would love to see him win the WC, but at this rate, I doubt he will even be selected. I thought by now he would be in the mix, but he's basically Garmin-Cervelo's bottle boy. That's what disappoints me.

I hoped he would race the Tour and find form, but maybe it'll be at the Vuelta he comes back.

I've expected much, much more from Haussler. His last years injury?... imo that is no excuse. Lulu is another disappointment but (in contrast to Haussler) I don't care. Hesjedal could have had much better spring as well... Boonen... I don't know... maybe he simply had no luck or I expect too much from him? Then Hagen: not fully a sprinter, not fully a time trialist, not fully a classic rider and suddenly in the end not fully an all-rounder

I agree with Mambo as well.

I voted for the Schlecks, though like Basso they appear to be hinging everything on the Tour. I'm also thinking Thor is hinging a lot on the maillot vert.

After a great 2010, Haussler has been off the radar screen.

If Boonen would have been on the list I may have voted for him instead. Though he did win G-W.

Haussler's great season was actually 2009. when you look at his overall record 2009 was the exception, he didnt do too much before then, or since. Although 2010 he wasnt really ever fully fit, or so it seemed.

menchov - wins big races on the years there is a weak field
sastre - been past it for a while
greipel - big boy in small races always goes missing against big boys
devolder - does he care if its not RVV
cavendish - 2 GT stages, not that bad a year
schleck brothers - Better make a good show of tdf otherwise biggest disappointment of year, just like their team
haussler - unfortunately 2009 looks like a one off
farrar - always second, does he win anything really meaningful
freire - leave an old guy alone

Most of these riders shouldnt be too much of a disappointment as they are just over hyped and not really that good.
