Bobrik's victory in the 1994 Giro di Lombardia.

Who? Vlatislav Bobrik, Gewiss Balan.

I liked the introdution of the former Sovjet Union and Eastern European countries in pro peleton the late '80s, beginning '90s.

Video of the Gewiss train smoking the entire peleton on the Mur de Huy, legendary stuff

i've read the stories about this race, but never seen it until now. this has to rank with barry bonds 2000-2005 as the most absurd PED-fueled exploits in sports history. 3 big guys just rolling a massive gear off the front? hilariously wrong.

after that, i can honestly understand why so many riders were demoralized to the point of accepting doping. journalists weren't going to say sh*t, and it was before any pretense of serious testing.

It's ridiculous how Davide Cassani has never been, not even the slightest bit, open about those years and those performances.

I sincerely love his commentaries, but come on, lately he even raged about the pessimistic vision people have speaking of professional cycling and cycling in general...

...yet he was there.
