Maybe not, but it would sure have made life easier for him, if only for the obvious morale lift gained from being in a harmonious team.

Got 3rd of the GC group on the 2 mountain stages that suited him while he had a garbage preperation.

Primoz Roglic is the single least overrated rider out there. He gets written off if he does as much as take a dump in the morning.

There is but one fan who claims he's better than he is, and meanwhile younger riders keep being rated higher time and time again while delivering nothing in Grand Tours.

It seems he still had the third best fresh threshold w/kg during the Tour (as Pereguades and Mt Ventoux showed). Obviously zillion crashes at the Giro and antibiotics afterwards prevented him from doing normal preparation and he lost more during difficult stages. With his Vuelta 2024 form 3rd at the Tour is very realistic.

But beating on a rider who won 3 one week races (major races) and will be second in the Vuelta behind Vingegaard doesn't seem right to me.
There is a strong case to be made about Almeida as the third best stage racer in the world. He just could be overrated if someone rated him higher than Pogacar or Vingegaard which I believe no one ever said this.
