Bialoblocki winning ITT at the WT level (Tour de Pologne) beats all mentioned by far.

Yes yes. I hesitated to vote because none of the options stood out. But this was the one that made me jump wtf, maybe because I just didn't know he's that good and didn't care about his trade team.

Where's Dumoulin's stage win on Cumbre del Sol?

It was by far the biggest surprise of the season. Way more then the options in the list.

I voted for Kiryienka in the WC ITT. That is usually one of the most predictable races in the entire season, but this year the whole event was shocking to follow. Runner-up vote goes to Sagan in Cali (Another 2nd place for his palmares!).

Kiryienka. The whole podium was a big surprise. How many years has Martin been on the podium? Rohan was a animal in the TTT and just won Tour of Colorado. And Dumoulin was a beast at the Vuelta. They all finished over 1 minute down.

1 Bradley Wiggins (Great Britain) 0:56:25.52
2 Tony Martin (Germany) 0:00:26.23
3 Tom Dumoulin (Netherlands) 0:00:40.64
4 Vasil Kiryienka (Belarus) 0:00:47.92
5 Rohan Dennis (Australia) 0:00:57.74
6 Adriano Malori (Italy) 0:01:11.62

Considering this i don't see how Kiryenka win is such a big surprise. The fact that the 3 favorites didn't lived to the expectations from different motives moved him on the top place.

It's rather odd that Dennis, Martin and Dumoulin would not only finish closely together but all be a minute off.

Agree if the top 3 are not performing then the podium will have the next best. So not so much of surprise although if Bialoblocki had won, it would explode the forum

+1 Nothing comes close to that.
Surprising before the start of the Vuelta sure but he'd already dropped Quintana a couple of times by that point

It's not about Quintana. He's not a factor on those kind of climbs.

But beating Purito and Froome, perhaps the two best riders in the world on these finishes, after been dropped with 300 meters to go. That's a big surprise.

+ 1

I mean, we all know Kyrienka is a great TT'er. He finished 2x 4th and 3rd in the Worlds ITT the past 3 years. If the big favorites would falter (which they did), we all know that only two other guys could be WC: Malori and Kyrienka.
