Tenet (2020) being a Christopher Nolan film, you know its going to be long and often confusing and I was bored and distracted looooong before the finish. Like a cross between a sci fi movie and James Bond but without any humour. Could not have been more different to his previous film Dunkirk which was a much more effective movie.

Halloween 5 (1989) : a pretty awful sequel with a few moments of suspense in the first half, still it might be the best sequel since the original up to this point of the franchise which is isn't saying much. The smartest move of Jamie Curtis' career was in having nothing to do with the four Halloween sequels after the first one. After that I guess she went for the money on offer which I can understand.

Have I seen this one? I can't remember, but judging by your post I will not be eager to see it.

On my end I've been binge-watching New Tricks (2003) lately, how come I've never heard of it? PBS is usually good about showing all kinds of Brit shows, but not New Tricks.

Anyhoo, it's a great crime show, I just love the dry humor in the first few seasons. And, many familiar faces I've seen on other Brit shows had made a guest appearance, it makes me think the Brit acting community must be rather small. It's either that or you just haven't made it as an actor unless you've starred on New Tricks.

New Tricks was entertaining enough but not something I wanted to watch regularly. Wasn't so good with the later cast, just didn't work as well. The last series I watched was Mare of Easttown. Pretty good for a one season series.

Poltergeist (1982) a Tobe Hooper movie that seems like a Spielberg movie. Hooper directed it as he admitted later after controversy was swirling about but with Spielberg as the producer it has his handprints all over it. It has nothing in common with previous Hooper movies although to be fair he never had a big budget to work with before. Spielberg also co-wrote the script and I wonder how much he had to do with the final edit ? That said it was entertaining enough with some decent special effects. Hooper never directed another big budget movie which was odd after the commercial success of this one. Maybe he preferred independent cinema and having full control of his work but his later movies unlike his early ones have been largely forgotten and many of them were mediocre. I wouldn't call Poltergeist a classic but many people do it seems according to the ratings on some websites.

I haven't heard of this one, maybe I'll give it a shot at some point.

Along with the Olympics I've been binge-watching Silent Witness (1996-) lately, the lead actress (Amanda Burton) is just awful. She has exactly one, frozen facial expression, it's this almost arrogant, self-satisfied look. Don't know if they already used Botox back in the 90s, if so she had made ample use of it. Don't even know how she had lasted the first 8 seasons, the only reason I'm watching them is because new characters that become regular characters come in and I want to know their backstories. The sacrifices one must make in order to be entertained...

Never watched much of that one but I think Emilia Fox who took over that role is a better actress and has been on it now for ages.

I tried to skip to the later seasons, but then I want to know why certain characters from earlier seasons had been replaced or what had happened to them. So then I'm faced with having to watch the ghastly Amanda Burton... this 1st world problem is terrible. Just terrible.

I saw The Forever Purge with my girlfriend and we both left disappointed. It wasn’t scary enough for her and not enough action for me on top of a plot that doesn’t make sense with inconsistencies. I feel like they didn’t want to go to hardcore and scare people away but didn’t feel like a R rated movie.

We saw The Ice Road and while a typical Liam Neeson movie, I felt like it was one of his worse outings since Taken came out.

I saw Psych 2 Lassie Come Home and for anyone that has ever seen the tv show Psych I highly recommend this one. I was laughing the whole movie.

Halloween : The Curse Of Michael Myers (1995). How this movie didn't finish off the franchise is anyone's guess. A pretty dire effort even by Hollywood sequel standards. Can't recommend. The 9% critics rating in Rotten Tomatoes is hard to argue with.
How many more Halloween sequels do you have to trudge through? It sounds like you may be at the halfway point...

I'll have to check out those Psych movies mentioned by SHADOW, I thought it was a TV series I'm not willing to invest time in. But a couple of movies are doable.

New Halloween coming out this year too.

They have 2 technically 3 movies but the technically third one is a musical. The show was good though and you might be lost going into the movies without the show as they’re set after the show ends.

Have three to go plus the two Rob Zombie remakes one of which I have seen one before or part of it. I might do the final one on Halloween and celebrate my release date !

There's yet another Halloween sequel coming out this year? Movingtarget will be busy, there's no light at the end of the tunnel for him.

I might still give the Psych movies a shot even though I haven't seen the series, if they end up not making any sense about halfway through I'll just graciously bow out. (Unlike movingtarget who seems to be a sucker for punishment when it comes to the Halloween sequels.)

Nose..it's a movie about Dior and perfume..okay. I don't wear perfume. This movie has photography that will blow you away..it figures that people in the beauty business know a little about how to make things look pretty.
Blood Red Sky..believe it or not a zombie movie w some cool twists..and a mom zombie w a personality..
Die In a Gunfight
I don't know why I like this movie so much..can't narrow it down to one thing.
The actress that controls the screen..Alexandra Daddario..is great and she is also great in The White Lotus..a dark comedy series about a bunch of loons at a Hawaiian resort..pretty funny..
An American Pickle
It's a must see silly comedy, starring Seth Rogen..playing a Jewish immigrant..he gets it
