Sports: So many but I'll pick Rocky ahead of Seabiscuit, Cinderella Man, The Natural, Hoosiers, Field of Dreams, and Rudy
Drama: Shawshank Redemption
Society: Don't know what this means, but have to put Ferris Bueller's Day Off somewhere!
Comedy: Loved Hangover, enjoyed Wedding Crashers and others like Death at a Funeral (English version) and Little Miss Sunshine, but have to give this one to Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
SciFi: Not a huge fan, but my nod goes to Blade Runner ahead of District 9, The Matrix, Star Wars, Alien, and 2001: A Space Odyssey
Horror: Again, not a huge fan but The Ring scared the crap out of me. Not sure if you can call them horrors, but movies like an American Werewolf in London and Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest and Rear Window were also good.
Documentary: One of my favourite categories, but difficult to pick from some superbs documentaries such as Touching the Void, Winged Migration, March of the Pengions, Born into Brothels, Hoop Dreams, Spellbound, One Day in September, Grizzly Man, and They Grew Tired of Us, but Man on Wire is still my favourite documentary.
War: I had to include this category because again there are so many good war movies with Das Boot, The Battle of Algiers, Thin Red Line, Saving Private Ryan, Platoon, Deer Hunter, Bridge over the River Kwai, and Apocalypse Now, but my all time favourite is Black Hawk Down.
