Ruta del Sol is a cool race but its not that big and the starlist is not so good apart from UAE and bahrain . Last year it had random guys in the top 10.

Meanwhile UAE Tour had top guys attacking each other riding mano a mano like contador and Rasmussen in 2007 , it was brilliant.

And I don't like sportswashing, it's a shame, but UAE tour is clearly the biggest February race after Omloop nowadays.

Ruta del Sol is a cool race but its not that big and the starlist is not so good . Last year it had random guys in the top 10.

Mas, Landa, Haig, Caruso, TGH, Bernal. That's six riders who've won or podiumed at least one GT in the past 3.5 years. And then there's also the likes of Rodriguez. That's a good field, yes there is nobody of the calibre of Pogacar but the same is true for Evenepoel at UAE. Last year's top-10 was weird because the route was, the only two major climbs were both at the start of stages.
