He might be coming into form a little too early for that. Unless this is just his base level now, then he could have a ridiculous spring.
Hard to tell as he spent most of the early part of last year tugging the peleton along as a neo-pro. And that was off the back of a CX season, which he skipped this year.

If Pogacar actually applied himself and managed to understand the ethos of the discipline, he many be able to win a couple of gravel races...

I actually think he has the work ethic for gravel racing, but I'm not sold on if he has the physiological talent for it.

 Couldn't help myself. I love her as a commentator. But I realise she erm, divides opinion,
It's partially a language thing. She started out with Dutch Eurosport and... let's just say she wasn't very good, so she became widely disliked (and sadly the target of online abuse) among Dutch and Flemish viewers. To her credit, her English commentary these days is far better.

Cheers. I didn't know that. I became aware of her a few years ago on the English commentary, and in that language she was definitely the innovator of trying to pronounce names/places as they would be in their native tongue. Which I liked, but also her speaking voice generally and the fact she doesn't feel the need to go bananas every five minutes. Plus she's more knowledgeable than most about races/riders at the lower levels, though oddly not about The WT.

In general I think at the level of knowledge some/most of us have on this forum, the English language commentators often don't add a great deal and can be annoying. So personal preference might simply come down to how much you like listening to them speaking?

I will take it as a compliment.

Caruso and Haig aren't that good. Mas is never strong in February. Bernal is a total unknown... so only 2 out of 6 are properly big, and Geogeghen Hart would wait for the sprint on every race in his life. Landa last man standing.

I'm joking a bit obviously but my point is that this is a small race with a weak field that has a gimmick to make people interested. Pogacar is not doing something historic.

What is the gimmick?
