Just wanted to give y'all a taste of what has made Grace Potter and the Nocturnals really shine.

Enjoy it:)

I know that I've posted some Grace here before! My favorite Grace numbers are all from the period before she made the last, 'commercial' cd in 2010. I particularly love the songs she plays on the Hammond. I just LOVE that Hammond sound. I saw her live in Baltimore last year and I have to say that this is one sh!t hot live band! Really kick a s s!

A few of my favorites -

Treat me right - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzPeTC7bH6E

Big white gate KILLER - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4bCnoqutHk&feature=related

Cortez the Killer with Joe Satriani - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paeNnR33i5Q

Apologies - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paeNnR33i5Q

Nothing but the water - stunning, awesome acapella before the band kicks in - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYrdfFpxTXQ

At the moment I'm being rather hypnotised by the deep, minimal grooves of Nina Kraviz.

Neither of the girls in the image is Nina Kraviz. She's more obviously Russian than them.

Alice In Chains - Would?

Nice, Nice, and Nice. Same with the rest on this page, but I'm still catching my breath.

The good part of that song is the tenor sax solo, its awesome. I wish I sounded that good. Along that same line earth wind and fire is pretty good like lets groove, and september (particularly fun to play in a funk band with). Lupe fiasco show goes on is good (although based on previous posts I doubt there are many hip-hop fans here).

In sudden need of some Golden Smog:

Until You Came Along
Cure for This

Golden Smog is an alt-country super collective of sorts featuring folks like Gary Louris & Marc Perlman (from The Jayhawks), Jeff Tweedy (Wilco), Jody Stephens (Big Star), Dave Pirner (Soul Asylum) and Chris Mars (The Replacements). It's lovely, obviously - jangly guitars and sweet harmonies galore.
