Neil Young - On the Beach

No album has ever quite hit the perfect spot to accompany one's bleakest moments as this one.

You've posted this before; your go to - it's a good one. It seems to me that bleakness is just another name for grounded or centered - what all spiritual traditions seek. Life only happens moment by moment - that's where the beauty happens. When all the grand designs and white noise falls away it's stark and beautiful. I'm fortunate that I live in a place of great natural beauty still. I can go for a hike and smell the flowers, watch the clouds and the river - I could even track down some cougars if I was so inclined. I can step outside on the sundeck and watch Bald Eagles and Merlins...deer, elk...

One of my go to's

Especially good when you are on a 8% gradient, dancing on the pedals, thinking you are Contador. Always had a soft spot for Shakira for some reason, I think she is amazing

I'll ban you for mentioning Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros and Shakira in the same post.

Check out Man on Fire or Mayla, I think they're better than Home.

What's so bad about Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros?
I'll check them out! ;)

I coulda probably have played it even better with the tools you made available for me, but I chose the non-controversial one!

Suddenly got into this one this week. Great song.
Love that the music video is so over the top. It is a very catchy tune and probably the best of an otherwise fairly weak album, compared to Muse's two previous efforts. Also, it is a nice to tune to have in your earplugs when spinning the home trainer because of the galloping riff

Yeah, I really tend to like the closing tracks of most albums. They almost always have a special feeling
