Unfortunately, none of their releases are available anymore. They used to play with SCOTS a lot, and were every bit as much fun...well, almost (obviously, one outlasted the other). I worked with the drummer for a couple of years, and got to see them many times.

... they are of very few acts who sound as good live as on the recording.

John Butler Trio - Revolution skip the first 35 seconds if you want to get straight into the song.

I'm always on the lookout for new sounds (to me;)) and the Butler Trio was great.... great tune, vocs, instrumental, and nice message. Good pick... and live too.

here's one for easy listening:
Snow Patrol – Shut your eyes

Nice Song, don't listen to snow patrol too much but this song is different to the songs of snow patrol I have heard. Intersting sound.

Another song you may like is this one Bernard Fanning - Wish You Well Bernard is the lead singer of my favourite band Powderfinger which are a great aussie band. Love this song as it has a simple message but great lyrics and makes me feel good inside listening to his voice.

Revolution is a much different song to some other John Butler trio songs as generally their songs are more upbeat songs.

Never really listened to it. Nothing against it, just have not listened to it. I am more of child of Iggy Pop/Black Sabbath. I have a wide range of musical tastes, but my base would stem from that mostly.

Yah, I noticed most of the Butler Trio songs I found on iTunes were more upbeat. I liked the Bernard Fanning - Wish You Well song. I'll have to check out the Fan Man and Powderfing on iTunes next. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip on Bernard Fanning and Powderfinger. I liked a lot of their stuff. If you liked Lifehouse you might also like Shine by Collective Soul (after the 30 sec advert):

I'm listening to Sundowner right now. Awesome stuff.
Sundowner - In the Flicker

I think it'll make it into my Best of 2010 list. Speaking of which, everybody should start posting their Best of 2010 lists right about now.
