In preparation for my summer Olympics viewing I've been watching some Olympic opening ceremonies from the past... things were so much simpler and to the point way back when. Still, I like me some Adele so, glad she was featured in the London Olympic opening ceremonies back in 2012.
Lots of great songs that are a soundtrack for sorrow, like Kansas City.. I hope my country can have something a song, a person, an event jar them awake..
I have worked in The Dakota and a few doors down towards Broadway is a similar stunning building that has some famous dwellers, John Lithgow being one.. And if you walk along the park towards Columbus Circle.. Trump Tower, walk the circle AOL building as it was once known but a very select view across traffic and a big statute, you can see Central Park.. Tom Brady had (?) an apartment there..and also on the traffic circle is bike rental place where me and my friends saw NASCAR legend Jeff Gordon and a joke was made for him to please, please, please don't take up bike racing because it's already hard enough..
This is a place right around 51st and Broadway.. Les Paul was there on Monday or Tuesday for decades , $10 dollar cover charge and 2 drink minimum.. Never knew what or who you would see. Saw Larry Carlton and Steve Miller, w no SM band
These brothers played a bar called Stateside on upper west side on a weekday.. Had $14.99 steak, decent steak, baked potato and vegetable, salad and a drink..Jack and Coke was $5-6 bucks by itself.. Before 6pm..want to think it was a Monday or Tuesday.. And on the sandwich board it would say Fabulous Bacon Brothers..
More than half the time I went here it was solo everyone complaining that they don't know the songs, 75-80% instrumental.. And if I said, Jeff Beck, Al Di Meola, Robert Fripp either got, who's that or sounds boring and terrible
