I get a smile from ear to ear every time I hear some commentator say Robert Forster - it makes me wanna put on a Go-Betweens record immediately. I admit it, I'm a big fan of the Aussie version of Forster. And to be fair, the German one is actually called Förster, but well - who cares? :D

On another Go-Betweens note, in one of the earlier seasons of 24, there was a company called McLennan-Forster. I couldn't help but laugh at that one.

And here's one of my favorite Aussie Forster moments:

First off, I like that you use the term 'record' instead of 'CD'. It's a little pet peeve of mine. ;)
I remember seeing that episode of '24' and thinking I must be hearing things. The following week there was an article in Entertainment Weekly that revealed a producer, Evan Katz, was a huge Go-Betweens fan.
You know that screenplay that we're all writing (in our minds, anyway) about our life and loves? I've entitled mine 'Head Full of Steam'. "I'd never met her type she ignored me and that's alright/ Never to be friends or my body lie on her floor". It's really evocative of this woman I know (though not as well as I'd like to, obviously ).

Since I got nothing better to do I thought I'd post a list of some of my favorite songs. If you into Alt/indie/folk/electronic-rock you should discover some gems! Give it a go!

Foals - Big Big Love - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWnKUVhKKmE
The development in the beginning is just brilliant. I always put this one on when I drive at night. Always shivers down my neck. Fits perfectly on the long, lonesome roads.

Veto - Duck, Hush And Be Still - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7AF8bAMPzs
Guilty. I might have posted this one here before. But this is really a killer song. Bit more electronic than the rest on this list.

Midlake - Roscoe - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGCrED-2v7o
These fellas' reminds me alot of Travis and a bit Mumford And Sons just without the crazy banjos!

Other Lives - Tamer Animals - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQ2PNaKJJcY
This band has this The National-ish sounds and it's only a matter of time before we'll se them on a bigger stage. Without a doubt. Chorus is ****ing amazing.

Tv On The Radio - Wolf Like Me - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5R_6aC6m9Xg
Has been one of my favorites ever since I discovered them years ago. Brooklynn bands never fails to deliver and this is no exeption. Bloody brilliant.

Yeasayer - 2080 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2A_Juv213s
This is acutally even better live. The guitar in the beginning is so freaking smooth and I remember when I heard them live that 'riff' just kept going in my head days after the concert. Found a live session here which was pretty identical - great isn't it?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hy2vbtmdRJQ Guitar starts at 1:17!

Ah! No list without Post-punk!
Editors - Escape the Nest - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlY2N7EnOZ0

Will post some more regularly if wanted :)

Eluveitie - Omnos

Love this song, the great Swiss folk metal, this band plays awesome melodies which I like very much even though they use the growling vocals (wich I don't like) probably too often but this song is free of it ;)

We are all here my friends
All dead and spaced but all so beautiful
We burn that mountain down
And always pump for peace when possible
We bite ourselves and bite our dogs
And stretch the flesh unmovable
We are all here my friends
Alive and spaced but all so beautiful
