I just endured a song by Maroon 5 on the NFL pre-game. Until that point, I was blissfully unaware that a band that sucked that bad actually existed. What in the ever living **** is that ****? That was the weakest, most repulsive form of music I have ever listened to. How those guys ever rose above "hey waiter" is a complete mystery. Please, please, for the love of all that is holy, please tell me they are not the vanguard of popular music these days.

I love Maroon 5! They write their own music, they are great live and they are the epitome of top quality music. You need your ears tested!

Was the song you listened to Move Like Jagger?

only joking

I think we can agree, that besides a few exceptions, music is done. :D

Things were over long ago.

That was just descent IMO, but I like her 'My moment' single. She's got talent.

You must have meant RED HOT CHILLI Peppers and their 'I'm wit you' album. I liked the tracks 'Monarchy of Roses' and 'Ann wants a baby'

You do realise I was being sarcastic about Rebecca Black?

One of my all time favorites.

One of their more underrated, but yet fantastic, song is 'Tonight'. Absolutely brilliant. Lyrics are simply fantasticTVOTR - Tonight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zd0-jNAlSbA

Another suggestion I'd like to post is Gotye. You might already know it. Got quite popular recently. The source of inspiration is not difficult to hear. Starts with S and ends with ting. Gotye- Somebody That I Used To Know http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UVNT4wvIGY

Found back to Sigur Rós. Jónsi on his own is also incredible, really love his solo-album! There's such a positive vibe, just makes me very happy :)

(But well, many people I know are not the biggest fans - hard to understand for me, absolutely outstanding musician with a unique and beautiful voice)

I love Sigur Rós, saw them in 2008, I think it was. Amazing.

As much as I liked Jónsi's solo album, it just wasn't good as their albums as a group, especially Agaetis Byrjun and Takk.

That's what I was thinking when I listenend to his album first. I've been a huge fan of Sigur Rós for many years, Agaetis Byrjun will always be one of my personal top 3 favorite albums - but yesterday I listenened to Jónsis solo work again for the first time after months, and the more I listen to it, the more I love it! Especially the accoustiv versions, what a joy! Those songs are so beautiful it almost hurts. I wouldn't say it's not as good as the work with Sigur Rós, it is just...different; incredibly amazing in a different way. And that is a good thing, I mean, doing a solo-album and just reproduce the sound of your "home band" would have been pretty pointless. But sure, that is all very subjective :)
