I know a lot of ACDC but not this one  So I went ahead and punched myself. Although it sounds like more or less any other song of ACDC...

Me too. Never heard that ACDC track. But I'm not too surprised about that. Now Zeppelin... that's another story where I have plenty of traction. There's prolly one or two Zeppelin songs I've never heard, and for that I'd have to punch myself.

ACF94 tipped the new Foo Fighters album a while back in this thread. Here's a good one off that CD:
Foo Fighters - Walk ...the intro take a bit over a minute I think.

Switchfoot came out last July with single Dark Horses. It is supposed to feature on a new CD "AllAccess" to be released soon (this month or soon after):
Switchfoot – Dark horses

The ATE came out with this tad bit older song in 2007:
The Airborne Toxic Event – Sometime around midnight

The Melvins Honey Bucket You have to wait for it, but the riff that starts at 1:05 is one of the best metal riffs ever.
The Melvins urinate on all metal post-1976 from a great height. So heavy, but without the nonsense. Such a great tune.

Melvins did a version of that too, but the Fleetwood Mac original is still the star of the show.

I don't know what screamo is, but it doesn't sound like something I would like. As for headbanging, I listened to my share of metal in the 80's. I still remember when my friend Jim got Metallica, Kill 'em all in 1983. It was an eye opening moment. But I kind of left metal a bit after that because I discovered the Dead Kennedys and the early Replacements albums (those are the vinyl discs needed needles and a turntable to listen to). Still, I never left metal completely. In fact my wife knows Kirk Hammett, so my son's first concert was a Metallica show with back stage passes, etc.

All that being said, please don't tell me someone who thinks Maroon 5 is music is trying to be critical of my musical tastes:D

Red Fang is stoner rock anyway...

Screamo is generally quite fast, loud aggressive rock music of which the singer just screams the whole way through. It is truly awful.

Some heavy rock songs can be good bu there is a point for me where it becomes way too much.

I'll try to find an example of it for you. If anyone else can find an example of screamo it would be much appreciated.

Cool riffs also make cool samples, right?

Whole lotta Rosie live

Live Wire

My two favorites. The sustained note that starts at 3:54 and lasts till 4:30 of Live Wire is just fantastic.

The story behind a whole lot of Rosie.

Bon was drinking after a gig and a 6 foot red head from Tasmania walked in back stage - Bone took 1 look at her and knew he had to have her.

A whole lot of Rosie. :D

Mojave 3 - Excuses for Travellers

For some reason it's one of my favorite albums. It's nothing special, to be fair, just ten lovely, folky pop songs. But I suppose it hit me at the right time some eight-nine years ago, and it hasn't worn out yet. The song 'In Love With a View' is gorgeous, and I can't resist the line "heroically tragic bearded and blind with obsession". This song is one of Neil Halstead' finest moments. Check it out!

Right now I'm listening to Mojave 3's debut album Ask Me Tomorrow. It's even better! Falling somewhere between Trinity Session-era Cowboy Junkies and Mazzy Star, it's a sloooow burner of an album. Very autumnal and outrageously pretty. And there are lots of room for Rachel Goswell, one of my favorite voices, to do her magic tricks. Gaaah, I love this album! Here's 'Love Songs on the Radio'.

I always thought they were better in their previous incarnation as Slowdive.

I love Slowdive as much as Mojave 3, and there's plenty of room for both the former's dreamy atmospherics and the latter's more traditional acoustic'ish sound. Rachel Goswell did play a slightly bigger (vocal) role in Slowdive than in Mojave 3, and that's problably advantage Slowdive, but I really can't chose between the two incarnations. Fortunately, I don't have to :)

Anyway, now I'm listening to Superdrag - Regretfully Yours. Great mid-90's powerpop with lots of guitar crunch. The opening duo of Slot Machine/Phaser is more or less perfect!

I never heard of Slowdive or Mojave 3 before now, but they were very good. Such as 'catch the breeze' or 'bluebird of happiness'.

Great! You should check out the first Slowdive album, 'Just for a Day' - my favorite of theirs. Or the compilation called 'Catch the Breeze'. Marvellous stuff. 'Bluebird of Happiness' is a very pretty song, although not one of my absolute M3-darlings. The album 'Spoon and Rafter' isn't fantastic either, but it's ok and listenable.

I'm shuffling through my music library at the moment. On the media player now, and for about nine more minutes, is Swans - 'Helpless Child'. One of their quieter, but nevertheless quite intense tracks.
