...and I've finally found my Keith Jarrett "The Koln Concert" and that's been getting alot of time in my current rotation.

I've been thinking of how to extend my jazz collection. I think you've hit the nail on the head.

Some more jazz. Just after we moved to Ireland, the Essbjorn Svensson Trio (EST) played a gig in Dublin. We considered going, but since we didn't have a car, it would have been too difficult to get back to Limerick for work the next day. We'd seen them about a year before in Poland and said that we would go next time. Little did we know that there wouldn't be a next time, due to Essbjorn's fatal car crash.

Ramjam and I posted a few Neil Hammond (Divine Comedy, Duckworth Lewis Project) numbers a couple of weeks back. He is a wonderful singer/story-teller. Here's another of my favourite vignettes that I was listening to yesterday.

i always adored marc ribot.

Ribot rocks.

I got a bit alarmed when Zam mentioned Maroon 5, but breathed a sigh of relief when I read on and saw the context. Fortunately, I'd never even heard of Phantom Planets :).

OMG, The Australian Music Industry awards are on tonight. The Highest Selling Album went to someone who sold between whose album went 1x Platinum (70,000). Ultimately this means that the artist sold between 70,000 - 139,999 albums. Australian music industry is dead.

Whatever happened to Rav Thomas? He came out around 2007 but have not heard much recently. He was promising, like this Like A Gameshow Host. Lilly was also good.

This is possibly the best music vid I"ve ever been lucky enough to capture - the sound, the up-close visuals, crowd noises, and Ryan totally on fire!

Only recommended for lovers of good, old fashioned, proper music.;)

Remember this boy's name - Ryan McGarvey - I predict a huge future for him.

Well done Amsterhammer.

Thank you 3man! FYI - and maybe Alpe's, there are still tickets available for the following shows by my main man, the truly exceptional guitarist called Joe Bonamassa!

12/14 Portland,OR Arlene Schnitzer
12/15 Seattle, WA The Paramount Theatre

If you liked that Ryan McGarvey clip, you'll have no trouble being stunned and amazed at Joe's skills. If you've never seen him live, treat yourself if you can. I promise you that you won't regret it!

Hey thanks man! I have to head Seattle way the week of Dec 12, just not sure exactly when yet. But I'll definately check it out and hope for the best. I've seen some of your Bonamassa posts and liked his stuff.

Here's a great Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds collaboration, live at Radio City Music Hall. Love the intro. BARTENDER.

Wonderful (kinda minimal) track. Can literally listen to it all day. The build-up at about 3:30 is just wicked, but you should listen to the entire song in order to understand its full complexity.

Spada - Arcobaleni

What a masterful composition. One of my all time favorites in the genre.
