Interesting. I also hear some Steve Vai in there too, but without the excess.Cance > TheRest said:Riverside - Second Life Syndrome

Modern prog rock at its finest, fusing the heavier elements of Tool and Opeth with the atmosphere of Porcupine Tree and Floyd.
Yep, that's another one that I feel bummed out about, even though he was a decade (or two) older than me.Amsterhammer said:My generation is dropping like flies. Another good guy gone.![]()

Libertine Seguros said:I've never been a Bruce Springsteen fan. The guy's always had talent, no doubt, but I've never been taken in by the big stadium rock feel, and find stuff like "Born to Run" to be horrific, overproduced, overblown crap.
But Nebraska changed all that. Shorn of the ESB and its sonic excesses, I could finally hear the great songs beneath. My favourite Springsteen album by about 300 miles and to this day the only one I have paid to own.

King Boonen said:Have to admit, I absolutely love Springsteen. His lyrics speak to me in a way very few peoples do. He's certainly much more than a "Big Stadium" artist although these kind of tracks tend to be his most well known stuff, I really dislike Dancing in the Dark! Going through his back catalogue you can find a whole host of albums and tracks that don't fit into the typical "Springsteen" stereotype. Check out the following albums:

Springsteen is awesome, I've seen him multiple times from very small venues on acoustic only to stadium ones. He'll Always give you yours $$$ worth and some concerts have actually run to 4 hours!
We were stranded in Jamaica back in the 80s once on the way home. They put us up in a lovely resort. But when you're in getting home mindset and have to make an unscheduled landing and are stuck there for 48 hours it isn't optimal. Anyway when we finally landed in Philadelphia and were deplaning the entire set of passengers broke into a rousing rendition of Born in the USA with raised hands and everything. One of those memories that last a lifetime.
Unlike Bowie whose work I continued to buy all through the decades I stopped buying Bruce about 10 years ago. I do have all his previous work though.
I'm still in my Bowie Binge and have 8 (of 21) albums to go. As on every album, there are some songs that really speak to me and I'll play it 10 times over and others I hit skip! Wild Is The Wind is one that has been a favorite for decades and still is.
