....wow ....excellent catch....

While I think I did catch that on first listen in the late 70s, I think some critics and fans got there well before me.

@graft, yeah. I don't think people have a clear view of the musical and sociocultural moment yet. So it seemed when I posted. The sound seems better on that clip than I remember. Probably primitive MP3s.

....truth be known I have a highly cultivated and very wilful blind spot to all things Led Zeppelin so that missing that is really not much of a surprise....what is a surprise is the rip-off itself....I mean, its a pretty "innovative" rip...

John Paul Jones. I'm young enough to be excused for overlooking their excesses, but old enough to have been cognizant of the music while it was fresh. If one were self-aware of these things and could hold down arguments, the punks and indie intellectuals gave you a pass.

That said, I haven't willfully listened to them in decades for more than the odd concert clip.

........remember buying an album because of basically one line in a review............" this is Led Zeppelin minus all the bull$h!t ".....here is the opening track to that album.....

....and yeah there were excesses here too but it was the Star Making Machinery BS and the crowd they attracted that did LZ in for me...
