Fair enough. My whole point was some rock musicians (providing they are still even alive) have cut their long, permed hair a long time ago while others cling on to the little they have left. Are they doing it for the fans? For themselves? Probably a little bit of both I'd say.
When Jon BonJovi got a haircut I was afraid for the safety of the country, it was a big deal!!
