He truly was, the Rock n' Roll Doctor.

Yeah, 16 Horsepower ain't the worst thing in the world. David Eugene Edwards seems like a scary character though. Here's a clip from Jim White's great documentary "Searching for the Wrong Eyed Jesus", with DEE and his banjo playing "Wayfaring Stranger" amongst others.

Waiting for Columbus. One of the greatest live records I have ever heard. I wore that sucker out in college. Jackson Browne wrote a pretty good tribute song to him to honor his contributions. But his music speaks for itself. What a treat to have him while we did.

Take a listen to Waiting for Columbus if you haven't or haven't lately to enjoy a truly excellent live rock and roll performance.

I've been listening to a whole lot of Lonely Island lately o), but to make up for that now I'm listening to Angelina Carberry & Martin Quinn. I'm also still kind of in a bluegrass/old-time mood so I've been listening to Old Crow Medicine Show and the United Steel Workers of Montreal.

The violinist is classically trained, the bassist is his daughter. I saw him recently with cello, violin and tuba as added players. They seriously kick a** live.
