I walk up all three everyday and that's rubbish. Montrose is pushing 10%, University Avenue is probably 5-7% and Byres road is not even 5%. Montrose is where the split happened in the womens race.
Well done Cav, I guess the climbs were just to short to shift him, I really thought a guy like Millar or Stannard would get a gap and go on to win.
The competition wasn't very strong. Stannard and Fenn were out front on the first lap, joined by the other four as chasers the next lap and everyone else was already an already ran at 28km. That said, the guys Cav hung with should have been able to drop him, that was a very good performance.
