That shaking the head thing only works in pro wrestling.

That one is on Russ and Pete. However it's also one of the most head's up plays from a DB in history by Malcom Butler, who was a nickel/dime corner, amazingly enough.

Same with Brock Purdy in the game against Minnesota. I wrote about this before. His passer rating before/after his likely concussion went from 110 to 40, throwing two bad picks in the 4Q of that game.

I did not know that about Zach, and will give him a pass on this game.
Malcolm was a Seahawk the season before....not like he couldn't have seen that play coming from space.

Love not traveling with the team because his wife is going to have a baby any time now.
Adams not traveling with the team because his body is still saying no.

Geno had a great Friday.

Two games on Saturday. I'll take the Bengals beating the Steelers. Both teams are on the outside looking in regarding the playoffs, but the Bengals are closer, and in better shape. I think Rudolph is starting for Pittsburgh at QB.

I'll also take Buffalo over the Chargers, obviously. I can't see LA playing worse than they did last week, but the Bills are in the hunt, and simply a better team.

Fascinating to me that the NFL bounced the Chiefs vs. Patriots game out of the MNF game last week, but this week they have no problem giving us the Patriots and Broncos in a flex game, when this game just as easily could have been Dallas at Miami.

NFL knew I worked Monday night so wouldn’t be able to watch the game most likely.

That's very strange why they won't flex Dallas/Miami for the SNF prime time game & move Denver/NE to the 2:25 pm afternoon slot? (Denver's normal home game start time).

The Denver/NE was originally scheduled for Christmas Eve prime time (they must have thought NE would be a better team this year & that game would have some meaning. Lol).

The weather here isn't looking all that great for tomorrow: Snow for most of the day & bitter cold temps by kickoff.

Anyone else watching the Bills Chargers game that is exclusively on Peacock.
The broadcast was very odd, the commericial breaks seemed to last longer, but maybe that is just an illusion.
The oddest thing was the nature of the breaks, sometimes it was no adverts but just the studio guys.

Not just this game but Peacock has felt like a worse quality broadcast this season. On previous games the quality would drop to like 140p plus more commercials. Sometimes it’s better to watch the game on my phone Thursdays.

Bills squeaked out their trap game and have another next week. Definitely applying pressure to the Dolphins who are in a big gauntlet to try and hold their division lead and look to play tomorrow possibly without Hill.

Much better performance by the Chargers. A little too close for Bills fans maybe. Bills still alive. Biggest difference in the game was the Chargers O line not being able to hold up for the QB to make more plays. Typical trap game for this time of the year.

Browning threw two bad picks early. He mostly looked good, but those picks, plus their inability to convert and turned the ball over deep in Steeler territory killed them before the half was over. But the story was really Rudolph, who saved Christmas for the Steelers. He played significantly better than Trubisky, who is now in Carzon Wentz land. Great game for Rudolph who many had given up on. Got rid of the ball quick, made good decisions all game long.

I agree on the Chargers, and Stick, looking much better. I'm not sure what to think about Buffalo. They look like they can beat anybody, but also look like they are going to lose a game everyone thinks they'll win, and be done for the season.

That article on players about to get a big pay raise was good. I commented on how I think Tampa will win that division, and I think that article is spot on about Mayfield. No, he's not playing like an MVP candidate. He's not really playing like the #1 overall pick. But he's playing very well within that system:

The former No. 1 overall pick has resurrected his career with an impressive debut season in Tampa Bay. Playing on a one-year prove-it deal worth $4 million, the sixth-year pro is on pace to set career highs in passing yards and touchdowns while guiding the Buccaneers to the top of the NFC South. As an efficient, quick-rhythm passer in offensive coordinator Dave Canales' system, Mayfield is an ultra-confident game manager supported by a talented collection of pass catchers and a persistent running game. With the Bucs exceeding most expectations and the veteran thriving as a low-risk distributor in a ball-control offense, Mayfield has changed the narrative around his game and re-emerged as a viable starter in this league.

Tampa has a tough game tomorrow against Jacksonville, then home against the Saints, and @carolina. They hold enough tiebreakers they can lose tomorrow and win out to win the division, but I think tomorrow will be a real test for them at a team, not just Baker. Should be good to watch.

That article on Mayfield was nothing but a joke. Complete hyperbole --- "resurrected his career?" Please...Lol.

So, because TB at 8-7 is on top of the worst division in football, and statistically he's doing fairly well - all of a sudden now, he's "resurrected his career?" Did he even have a career to resurrect to begin with? Lol. Mayfield has been with been 4 different teams, has a dismal career record of 38-45, and has only one playoff win in two post-season games! Lol

Mayfield was a #1 OA  pick in 2018. There were 25 other NFL-caliber prospects that year out of over 100 college QBs. Mayfield was deemed to be the best QB - and best player - of that draft! A #1 OA drafted QB is expected to have Superstar status. That means winning seasons, division titles, playoffs wins & eventual SB title(s).

Mayfield has been nothing more than a joke as a #1 OA. Sadly, he's made a lot of dough performing poorly & losing a lot of games. FFS, he couldn't even make it at LAR where McVay is supposed to be really good with developing QBs. Lol.

Brady in his first season with TB led them to a victory at SB LV where he was the MVP!

If TB makes the playoffs well see then how far "Mr Resurrected Career" takes them. Anything short of a NFC championship game appearance is a colossal failure, IMO.

This isn’t the same the Jaguars team from earlier this season. Lawrence had that injury a couple weeks ago and he’s just not the same player. I am afraid that the Jags won’t make the playoffs.

You mean you're telling me that "The Next Payton Manning" isn't going to make playoffs this year? Lol

I can't imagine what this will do to the Lawrence worshippers & Jaguar faithful. Could be a lot of depressed, somber & despondent people in the Northeast of Florida.

Big wins for Miami, Buccs, Falcons and Browns. Hawks stay alive with another late TD. Not looking good for the Jags. Flacco does it again as does Cooper.

Bills not exactly the model of consistency. They often look mediocre against mediocre teams. Lot of people tip them to cause noise in the playoffs but it could easily go the other way as well.

I noticed that too. That shouldn't happen (in theory of course). NBC probably went with the lowest contract bidder for bandwidth.

Looked great today. Wiped the floor with a team with a supposed good defense and their own top picks. The team that has "the next Peyton Manning". :grinning:

Curious what you think of Kyler Murray, Jamis Winston, Jeff George, Tim Couch, David Carr, Jamarcus Russell...

I honestly wasn't able to watch many games today, just some highlights. I did see the end of the Miami-Dallas game, and the Cowboys had every chance anyone could want to win that game, and couldn't do it. I'm not convinced Miami can win the Super Bowl, but I'm about convinced my early season prediction of the Cowboys losing in the playoffs (again) and Jerry Jones suffering some sort of medical episode (physical or mental) is looking ripe!

Rather ugly loss for Denver. Russ just way too inconsistent. Belicheck with this ragtag empty roster of mostly nobodies isn't as bad as their record.

There are some Raider fans who think their team can somehow beat KC. I honestly don't see it. Compete? Yes. They are playing very hard for Antonio Pierce, but KC needs to win, and they are simply a better team, at home. Raiders admittedly have some of the most idiotic fans. Many want Jon Gruden and Derek Carr back, or think if the team hires Jim Harbaugh and drafts JJ McCarthy, they will lead them to instant winning. Sure.

I think the Giants may be just what the Eagles needed at the right time: A competitive, but not very good team, and division rival, at home.

BAL@SF is basically the hype game of the year, and a potential Super Bowl preview. Can SF contain Lamar? Can the Ravens hold the SF offense in check?
