The much hyped Green Bay defense took a battering from a Cowboys without Lamb but Pickens showed up in a big way.

Bills got it done efficiently enough.

Colts and Rams was an entertaining game but late mistakes from the Colts turned the game.

The 49ers game was messy as predicted. Even with four turnovers and a horrific special teams performance they still could have won in the final minutes but another mistake by Purdy ended it. Purdy has had about 20 intercepts in his past 20 games and his performance was mediocre. Bosa's absence was also obvious on the defense. They need a miracle to beat the Rams on Thursday.

The Chiefs were much too good for the Ravens. Nice win by the Giants over the Chargers. Lions were much too good for the Browns.

They sure did. And just another day at the office for Allen throwing & running with ease. Allen has almost a thousand yards passing already & currently holds the highest QBR rating (on pace for another 4000 + yds). And Cook has been on fire averaging 100 yds a game - 2nd best in the league. And they're 2nd in points scored only behind Detroit.

Unfortunately, they have a cheesy schedule for their next 3 games (NE, ATL & CAR) not playing a worthy opponent until the KC game on Nov. 2nd.

Nice comeback try by the Jets but too little....too late. Fields over 300 yds of total offense & 2 scores, but no win & the Jets go 0-4. Dolphin victory probably saved McDaniel from a mid-season firing. Tyreek Hill looks to have suffered a serious, season-ending leg injury.

No surprises in the Bronco game. Explosive offense with over 500 yds of total O & 6.4 yds average per play. Nix well over 300 yds passing & Dobbins 100 yds rushing. No offense for the Bengals. That's expected with the gigantic drop off going from Burrow to Browning. Lol. The Bengals are a sinking ship, they may not win another game this season without Burrow. They looked pathetic out there.

The importance of a good back up QB has never been greater especially for teams like the Bengals that have mainly offensive talent and win games by scoring a lot of points.............maybe not this year..........

Watching the play doesn't look like anything egregious by the tackler. Hill's catching a pass on an out route & is tackled in the lower leg area by the DB as he's going out of bounds. Somehow his leg gets bent backwards at the knee joint & you can see the trauma to the leg. This looks like a similar type injury that Tank Dell suffered last December who is still out not expected to return until next season.

Dolphins with a win but at what cost. They lost their track for first overall pick and lost capital for any Hill trade. It won’t happen but they need a change from top to bottom. McDaniels will probably be fired in the next few games and I think Lions should pick him up as OC or another part of the offensive coaching. The GM needs to go as well though.

No one is going to trade for Russell Wilson. Not even Cincinnati. He's not going to "save" any team.

I don't personally like Hill. All one has to do is look him up, his life outside of football.

KC's offense and Patty did look good (again), but the Ravens defense is horrible. Low effort, bad tackling, blown coverages. They have now given up more points than any other team in the NFL. Twice as many points as Seattle, for comparison. Only Dallas has given up more total yards, and that's because of their OT game. Plus the Ravens are 28th in yards per play. Harbaugh's seat has to be getting hot.

Raiders played their best game in a loss. Jeanty finally got going.

Ravens defense has imploded in a somewhat short amount of time. Never been a Hill fan but admired his athleticism. Wilson looks like he's just about done. If the Steelers and Ravens miss the playoffs both coaches could be gone as neither is getting closer to a SB. Even if they make the playoffs and go out early it's probably time for a change at both teams.

Joe Flacco benched for Dillon Gabriel. When he's played, and in the preseason, Gabriel got rid of the ball quick enough, and has one strength Flacco doesn't: he is mobile.

I made a prediction before the season Flacco would get hurt, Gabriel would take over, the Browns would not play well. Gabriel would be benched for Sanders, and he would be no better. Let's see how many games Gabriel lasts.

I don't think the Browns had much of a choice, Flacco has been terrible. He's already thrown 6 picks & only 2 TDs with a league low 27 QBR.

And Gabriel - was he drafted as a franchise QB or backup? (historically 3rd rd QBs can go either way). He's classified as a mobile pocket passer, NFL.com Prospect report grades him as a "Good Backup With The Potential To Develope Into Starter." However, Bleacher has him as a backup prospect noting his smaller stature/hand size & arm talent/strength are average at best.

If it doesn't work out with Gabriel (he wasn't very good in preseason), there's Sanders in the bullpen ready & willing to show his stuff. Lol.

Gabriel wasn't that bad in the preseason. At times he looked like he could play in the NFL. The Browns problem is that Sanders played okay in one game, and pretty bad in another. But there's no question when the Browns start losing again, the fans will call for Sanders because of his name and hype, and the fact Stefanski's seat has to be getting warm means Shedeur will play. But I didn't see much of anything from Sanders showing me he was really ready to start in the NFL. But my guess is we will find out in a matter of weeks.

Three of four teams in the AFC north now are playing backup QBs. The only starter left is Aaron Rodgers, somehow. Some way. Flacco is done, unless Gabriel and Sanders get hurt, or are beyond horrible. Burrow appears out for the season. Lamar may only miss 1-2 games. But the Ravens are in such a hole, I'm not sure how long they can go without him.

Because I had no knowledge of Dart previously, did he do something in preseason that was ominous about Russell Wilson's future? Is there any parallel between Dart and Sanders? I don't see much downside for even just to start Sanders. I think that there could be something subtle, unseen that is worth the risk. Dart capitalized on first game ..

The big difference is Dart is a dual-threat QB, and Sanders pretty much a pocket passer. Dart has looked better at every single stage since the end of the last NCAA year. The fact he was at the Combine and looked good, and Shedeur skipped it, also helped Dart, and hurt Shedeur.

Sanders isn't going to start over Gabriel for a few reasons: First is Gabriel was drafted higher. Next is Gabriel has more snaps with 1st and 2nd team players in practice. Gabriel also played more in the preseason. Neither looked that great in preseason, but Gabriel looked more NFL ready. So until Gabriel falters (quite possible, it's the Browns and they have a poor offense), Shedeur won't be playing.

NFL.Draftbuzz, which classifies QB prospects according to "type" of QB, has Sanders as a mobile PP. He has a 4.68 40, which is sub-elite for a QB (faster than Dart & Ward), and a 4.33 shuttle time which is above-average. The scouting report mentions that Sanders has good athleticism with the ability to run & extend plays. They also have him as QB2 (behind Ward) - projected as a 1st-mid.

In fact, out of the dozen or so QBs drafted this year only 3 were classified as pure pocket passers (Ewers, Mertz & McCord). The rest were either mobile PPs or traditional dual-threats.

I think the issue with Sanders is he identifies his game as a pure pocket passer, therefore the offense at CU under Pat Shurmur that he played in was designed around a pocket passing scheme.

However, in this interview, Sanders said he's most comfortable as a PP but could adjust his game to include more running (I think he almost uncertainly has to in today's game where teams are seeking mobile PPs/dual-threats):

Impressive gritty win by SF tonight. Total team win. Offense, defense, special teams. Jones was excellent. And a lot of backup players stepped up to win when it mattered, in a game everyone expected them to lose handily.

Wins so far over all three division opponents, beating both Seattle and LA on the road. 49ers schedule favorable the rest of the season.

"Pea shooter Jones" was on fire! 342 yds, 2 scores, 100 Rtg & 0 turnovers! - and he was playing hurt on that bad knee nonetheless! Eat your words Rex Ryan - you clown! Lol. And the backups stepped up - 17 catches between Bourne & Tonges! And what a punch out by 2nd rd pick rookie Alfred Collins causing Williams to fumble at the goal line.

With performances like that, who needs Purdy, who needs Kittle, who needs Pearsall, etc, Lol

Yep. Every "expert" had Sanders as the second best QB in the draft.

And then reality hit.
Are you talking about his attitude that dropped him so badly in the draft? Because performance wise he is the 2nd best QB in the draft. All the top scouting sites had him as a 1st rounder (e.g. NFL.com, Draftbuzz, Bleacher, etc). NFL. com. rated him with a prospect score of 6.30 ("Will Eventually Be Plus Starter") - same rating as Cam Ward! Bleacher had him at 8.0 on their rating scale = impact player. Do you think all these sites would get it wrong? They collectively agree on his potential as a starter in the league.

I watched Sanders' pro day. He threw the ball really well - making all the NFL-required throws with ease (go back and watch it yourself). He's a better passer than Dart, IMO. Doesn't have the arm strength that Ward & Shough has, but he's just as good at accuracy & ball placement as those guys.

Let's just be honest here, Sanders arrogance & crappy attitude didn't go well with GMs. He interviewed with a primadonna attitude. That's last thing a GM wants when looking for a franchise QB. The kid has talent & the potential to be an established starter in the league.
