It had really no chance if the rulings were never changed. It looks like the PI review rule is over after a one year trial.
AAF and XFL both gone within 12 months !
Wow...talk about bad luck. I thought this league had some traction and might survive into a second season. But that's it - it's done for good.
I actually starting watching some games in their entirety during the 2nd week of play or so (I had the flu for about a week in Feb and had a lot of time to watch sports). The game kind of grew on me as I became more fimilar with the players and style of the game. I thought if we had a franchise here in Colorado, I would consider going to a game.
Sad nonetheless...McMahon must be thinking I can't believe this crap.
Wow!!!McCaffery signs largest RB contract ever

McCaffrey signs $64m deal to become highest-paid running back in NFL history
The Carolina Panthers have agreed to a four-year extension with their All-Pro running back Christian McCaffreywww.theguardian.com
Which is funny since the reports were he was willing to take a lose for a couple years.I think the issue with the XFL is and always was, "how much money is Vince McMahon willing to lose?" Because the XFL, just like the AAF and any other similar start-up, is going to have to take a heavy loss leader, and someone who isn't very risk averse to really back it. Because you're simply not going to make much money for some time no matter how popular football is, and how well you run, market and sell it.
The answer from Vince now appears to be, "not much"!
This is a good practical observation. Unfortunately it will always come down to the cost of business and young draftees are cheaper. Marginal veteran players will need to shine early in pre-season (what preseason?) to maintain a position. Given that the schedule might be abbreviated, opportunities for all players are going to be uncertain. What will be certain is guys will have less time to prepare and shine....and recover from new injuries.Who would have ever thought that there could be a red shirt year in the NFL.
All the grey haired hang ons may look to stay in the game. I wonder how positive this Covid-19 layoff will be for older players..healing time w pressure minimized..No full contact practices for players and practice teams..Knees and shoulders given extra weeks. Pulled, ripped off and other torn muscles given an involuntary vacation..so my hope is when football returns we will see more familiar faces.
The experience that veteran players currently have will increase in value simply because no on the job training for young players is unavailable..world wide.
LOL. I liked this one: "Every NFL Team’s Draft Pick that Mel Kiper was HORRIBLY Wrong About", which has 32 examples why I never listen to Kiper.
Watched 2 very sentimental and seemingly sincere interviews with Gronk about head injuries and health..past present and future.
Gronkowski to the Bugs a Brady..
I'm not too surprised Gronk is coming back. Throughout history athletes have almost always had to be shown the door, that they completely didn't have it anymore, with few retiring in their prime before it was obvious (Barry Sanders). Gronk (and Brady) are following suit. Having said that, I can easily see a healthy Gronk have a very good season in TB.
Love that Pat McAfee clip.
As to Mel Kiper, that guy is so laughably bad, a random wheel of fortune can pick almost as good as his "expert" analysis. Lots of links and videos to all the terrible picks he suggested. I could make a list, but I don't have a few hours or days to bother.
