Maybe I'm thinking of a different stadium than.

And I know I heard this morning. i wouldn't go that far but it has its similarities. It looked like the second death star when it was being built. Maybe Vader stopped the rebels in time so the Saints couldn't see the plans.
No it's the same stadium I just heard other people talking about it it on a chat, other teams have had issues in the past so you are right. Seems like Skip is just reporting what others are saying about the new stadium in Vegas. but he said he drove past it and it looks amazing. Rams new stadium looks great.

Not saying anything that everyone doesn't already know.. International airport..a casino reputation,w confidential fun as part of the landscape, natural beauty, debauchery..and now the ability to see world class hockey and football(American) ..
Law Vegas looks to be, the ticket..
Glad to see Raiders play well

I'm obviously not glad for any of the injuries, but Bret Rypien might get some snaps in DEN now. They did just sign Bortles too though.

I wonder about the injuries:
Not enough prep and you get early season injuries, too much prep and you get late season injuries (or so the argument goes). Is there a middle? Would those injuries not happen if they had more preseason? IMO all of the soft tissue injuries would still happen no matter what the preseason looked like. Lock for example: what prep in the preseason would have made his rotator cuff withstand that impact? IMO, nothing.
A pandemic-shortened off-season program: No OTAs, no minicamps, no preseason games - just full-throttle into the regular season. In 2011, injuries increased dramatically after the NFL lockout:

There wasn't anything egregious on Lock's hit by Dupree - it looked pretty benevolent to me. I've seen Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers & co get hit like that many times and not end up with a serious shoulder injury. I hate to say it but Lock is showing signs of an injury bust. He missed half the season last year with the thumb and now I think it'll be more than "3-5 weeks" if it's a serious rotator cuff strain as the Broncos are reporting (which actually could be a partial tear). I've torn my rotator cuff and they're not injuries easily rehabbed especially if you throw a football for living.

And you can forget Rypien getting a shot because, as you pointed out, Bortels was signed. Elway never ceases to amaze me. Instead of bringing up Rypien to the active roster backing up Driskel and getting some valuable sideline experience (and maybe getting some late game/mop-up playing time), he signs one of the biggest QB busts of alltime (round 1/pick 3 in 2015) Lol. Also, Cortland Sutton was lost for the year with an ACL tear making a tackle on an interception by Driskel.

And to add to your point about going full throttle into the regular season, players really need hitting at game speed for their bodies to get football ready. And they had none of that, or at least not enough. Nice thing about preseason, players can get that without having to play full games and thereby ease into it.

To jmdirt's point, I'd expect too much hitting at game speed, particularly by adding games to the regular season making it longer, will result in more injury that will take longer to recover from in the offseason. For some players, that will disrupt some of their offseason workouts, and make it harder to just get their body back to where it was, let alone trying to improve their body's conditioning from where it was the year before. I mean, one of their goals should be to improve the body each year, building on the previous year. And for some, the domino effect is it will be harder to do that as they struggle just to get back to where they were.

Some interesting games this week : Packers/Saints, Hawks/Cowboys, Chiefs/Ravens and Rams/Bills, Hope the 49ers can overcome their injury plague and beat the Giants. The Giants will probably never get a better opportunity even though they also have some injuries. I'll take an ugly Niners win !

For what it's worth I will take the Packers, Hawks, Ravens, Bills and Niners of the above games.

Hopefully round 2 in Metlife goes better than the first.

Disappointed in LVR against NE. Didn't think they'd win from Cam's duel threat but that it'd be closer.
Round 2 going good for the 49rs.
DK joins the celebrating to early club (maybe we should have this for the NFL too.) If it comes down to that missed touchdown for a Seattle win...
Arizona going strong!
TB getting more in sync and Gronk with the legs flying by everyone (when said he can't) and if Brady had a little less zip would have been a wide open touchdown.

For some reason the Bengals/Eagles result put a smile on my dial ! Good day for the wounded 49ers, beating the turf, the Giants and seeing the Cardinals and Rams lose close ones. Good start to the season by Pittsburgh, not so good by Denver, Falcons and Texans, expected more from the Raiders, a little surprised by the Panthers win. Tompa Bay get another win, Hawks hung on against the Cowboys.

If the Bills keep ahead or same record as Patriots by week 8, that game will be a must win to get the division.

Bucs need to work on the penalties on offense. Had one each drive of their 3 and outs to end the game. Can't shoot yourself in the foot constantly.

49ers kick snaps are atrocious, Mullens filled in well for Jimmy G. McKinnon is doing well after being out for two seasons but Reed is injured again !

My tips are 4 for 4. If I had put money on them I suppose they would be 0-4 ! I need the Ravens to win now. Not surprised by the Green Bay result. Across the three rounds it seems that not much defense is being played !
