I think that the Weekend, a very very long Weekend's performance was just the punctuation on a pitiful game. I am not sure that the stats will be up there w Brady's best but he had a decent day and Kansas City basically caved in on themselves. The mental errors were abundant, and watching the defensive backs, line up off sides on special teams,and in the ultimate display of stupidity, chase after Tom Terrific to get personal fouls and obviously motivate Brady further, if that was even possible. The Chiefs had nothing that could develop fast, no slant or quick screen pass, and the lethargic game plan had Mahomes scrambling for survival rather than scores. Brady had the ball snapped over his head and he still was better than KC. And in a true golden boy moment, Brady un-threw an interception, and un-failed on 3rd and long while the Cheifs defensive doofs, penalized themselves into oblivion.
The Mexican TV coverage had some advertisements super imposed over the game a few times, but didn't cover all the screen to see KC players,yelling,throwing helmets and fits all over the bench. Really amateur.
thank God for chicken wings and cheesecake, Janet Jackson could have played better in the KC secondary and halftime.

Plan A: Have Patrick line up in shotgun on every play, run around on his gimpy toe and hope that he comes up with some miracles
Plan B: See Plan A

It's easy being a coordinator when you have a superstar QB surrounded by great supporting cast but not so easy when your decimated offensive line is being dismantled. Good coordinators will adapt to slow down that pass rush as best you can. At the very least you need to stop your franchise QB taking a beating or worse. Screens, slants, get the ball out quickly, mix in the running game, then maybe you get time to throw the ball down the field. I saw very little of that. There will be some teams who have just appointed a new head coach, happy that they didn't follow the media hype about Eric Bieniemy

There was no half time adjustment that I could see on offense or defense. I just think that the Chiefs were expecting to do the double. Usually when they get into trouble they always do better in the scond half but not this time even though Kelce started seeing more of the ball and Hill finally got involved. The Buccs defense never really looked in trouble. Not sure why Mahomes was constantly going backwards just making it harder and harder to get field position and opting for miracle plays. Kansas at least should have tried running the ball more. They were out played and out coached and the flags and dropped balls just made it worse. Maybe Mahomes worst game ever.

That offensive line was pathetic - missing Fisher was huge as that line had to be shuffled around. Plus losing starter Laurent Duvernay-Tardif for the season didn't help matters (opted out).

Congratulations to the GOAT Tom Brady - he did actually what the organization signed him to do; win a SB immediately (from 7-9 last season to 11-5 and a title). Well done TB :cool:

It will be interesting to see if Tampa repeats and Brady finally retires - or will he play forever? I noticed when he walked out of the tunnel this is a man who looks 30 not 43. His body has been good to him and other than the torn ACL back in 08, he seems to dodge the serious injury bullets that has plagued so many great ones over the past years.

Brees will more than likely retire due to injuries. Rodgers has been pretty beaten up over the years and who knows how much longer he will want to go and Big Ben is injury prone and also has an uncertain future. But with Brady there seems to be no ceiling on his playing longevity. That's a 43 yr old playing at the highest level and getting the job done. Incredible.

Brady's biggest assets is his training, sleep pattern, eating habits, and throwing motion. He looks better now than he did when he was drafted. Another issue with those quarterbacks and previous is their arms giving out because they use majority arm when throwing while Brady uses his whole body which maintains his arm. His throwing motion is textbook. He even said he could play till 47(!) last week and at this point I believe it. Not the most physically gifted but he works hard for everything.

I agree, they never 'adjusted' their game plan.

This is the identical situation in Seattle's last game and why Schotty had to go. No creativity and using the same offense that everyone had seen. Arian's crew had their planning down and came at Mahomes early, hard and often. A tough game to endure with a halftime show that became equally numbing.

I hope they continue to be an exciting factor but the SB was a clear example of fundamental strength and good strategy beating streetball. TB has it's share of mercenary one-year players as well so they will be searching to maintain this year's outcome.

History of the National Football League shows pretty clearly that a wildcat style offense can work as long as you have 4-8 quarterbacks at the ready. So Mahomes scrambling is ok if it's part of something broken,some display of talent, dexterity and athletic improv. If the Seahawks,Chiefs and a couple of other teams have a playbook that includes sending the quarterback as the designated ball carrier will end in disaster.
And the really ugly part of recent QB data is from New Orleans. Brees did to much running, but significant in my mind was the fate of Taysom Hill..you can do wildcat stuff as a novelty but if it's by design,a hybrid throwing running back..the body types don't stand up to the defense..
Yes the use of youth may have some utility in winning games but to prolong a career..don't think so.
Brady is no Bradshaw,Stabler or Namath, but those guys were famously held together with screws,tape,glue and braces, he is lucky enough to get out before his name is added to the list of injured race horses..
And not sure about diet or therapy, but not so long ago,Gronkowski was talking motor issues,processing problems, leaning towards head injury outcomes..all the things he sighted as contributors to retirement, look to be gone and forgotten....?

Russell and Seahawks management are miffed at each other. Now that there is little to report the Sports reporters are creating a feud.....Get some O-linemen!

Late PS: Russell and Ciara spent time at the SB talking to the NFL Man....Russell has voiced his interest in team ownership which is timely, given the NFL's leanings towards the current political climate. Could a trade somewhere be linked to a stake in a team? The guy's focus and ambition would certainly allow for that unless Jodie Allen wants to part with a portion of the team. That's my rumor d'jour....

The NFL releases the Super Bowl mic'ed up 40 minute video but don't include all the trash talk between Brady and Mathieu. I think everyone wanted to see what was said and the profanity used. Though it showed the Buvs faith and Chiefs unwillingness to adapt.
