I think you said, but I agreed, that any chance he actually had was to play more. And he's actually getting that. He played a fair amount last year, but all the pressure was on him, and he was benched more than once. Here, no one expects him to win, he was supposed to sit all year, and then he was immediately thrown out there...and playing better.

That was a bit of an ugly game tonight. Tyrod Taylor brought the Giants to life in a way their offense hadn't been with Jones. But Buffalo's offense was often hard to watch. For every impressive throw, or scramble and throw Allen made, their entire offense had two bad plays, or couldn't move the ball. Granted, they won. However, there are fans on Buffalo message boards that want OC Ken Dorsey fired, and Allen traded, or just cut, ASAP. These people are more stupid than Raider fans! :openmouth:

Good win by the Rams. Raiders got it done. Bad result for the Saints

Burrow looking healthier and the Bengals defense stepped up. Geno has to do better than that. Pete looked pretty pissed at the finish.

Vikings beat the hapless Bears in the worst game of the day. A real fumblethon from both teams. Once again between the good runs, Fields is making some awful decisions.

Bills fall over the line against the Giants. Horrible time management error by Daboll at the end of the first half.

Detroit was too solid for the Buccs who reverted back to their play from last season with multiple drops and some streaky QB play.

Not a good day in general for QBs and kickers.

I knew that PHI and SF wouldn't go 17-0, but these weren't the teams that I thought would get them.

SEA! You HAVE to score when you get close! Geno was spotty and DK was pouty! O line still needs to be better. Its easy to say sitting here, but Geno can't play every snap like he is going to get hit. That's on the line, but also on him.

NYG are terrible yet they lead most of the game against a 'supposedly' elite BUF. Mike and Chris going on and on about the play at the end of the first half was silly. First of all, going to SB is never a bad idea, and would have been praised adnauseam had he poked it in. That being said, staying with the main play was no guarantee, nor was a FG a sure thing. Taylor looked as good as Jones for a fraction of the price.

I usually play the $20 dollar sheet and seldom the $50 and usually I am not in the running by the time Thursday game comes around.
Chargers got a by and Dallas is not terrible, but what is close to terrible is the LAC secondary.
The only thing I am curious about is what Travis Kelce will be selling this week. And for the record I am not a prepper but I keep cream of mushroom soup and cream of asparagus or celery that I use for a couple of recipes. Kelce had a Campbell soup commercial, sort of an NFL tradition for hard men athletes to sell soup,usually some angle that involves their mom.
I saw the spicy chicken noodle which has little appeal to my taste buds..but I knew I was out of touch with what groceries cost when one can of Kansas City Chief approved soup was @$3.69 for a can.. I knew then how Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are rolling in cash, unbelievable wealth it's all through pricey soup sales.. I think I am on to something..

I don't even remember any other receiver catching a pass! Knox (TE) had 5 or 6 catches. Diggs must have had 15+ targets, and 10 (?) catches.

OK, Shakir had a catch (I notice the BSU guys!:).

No kidding he's for real - he's looking like the shining star of this year's QB class (he's 4th in the passing stats category with 9 TDs to 1 pick & RTR of 95).

What's amazing though is Houston is 3-3 & in the thick of the division race only 1 game behind Jacksonville. And the 3 wins already equal Houston's total number of wins last season! If you had told me at the beginning of the season that by this point Houston with Stroud would be 3-3 while Denver with Wilson would be 1-5...I would have thought you're crazy! Lol

And we can't overlook Houston's QB coach, Jerrod Johnson, as being an integral part of Stroud's development. This is Johnson's first stint as a QB coach (he was the asst. QB coach at Minn last year). Johnson had a stellar college career at Texas AM & was undrafted but made it as backup on several NFL teams. If this successful development of Stroud continues throughout the season, Johnson is going to make a name for himself.

DeMeco Ryans had a great reputation at the 49ers and Shanahan didn't want to lose him but knew it was inevitable.. After the Texans previous problems they will be getting a complete change to their culture. Obviously they are a well coached team across the board albeit inexperienced at that level. They also picked up some handy players who play hard without being superstars. They are better positioned than quite a few other teams re the future.

Geno and receivers don't have the free lance schoolyard options down, yet. When they get in the Red Zone and room is limited the schemes get cluttered quick and Geno freezes, waiting for an openning. They need more options for Walker and the Bengals game proved it. He got flagged for illegal blocks when he might have been a half step from an option pass....Clusterf*ckery and coaches take some blame for it.

Cowboys pulled out a sloppy, but needed win over the Chargers, as many mistakes as they made.

Houston is actually loaded with young talent. Not just CJ!

It's hard to believe the Bills team that looked like a struggling team trying to find their identity, two weeks ago spanked the Dolphins 48-20 and seemed to really put to rest who was the best team in this division.

If the season ended today, Chicago would have the 1st and 2nd picks in the draft. I'm certain at this point the Fields experiment is over and they'll take Caleb Williams. But here's the interesting point, Denver is in line to get the 3rd pick in the draft, and this may not change if you look at their schedule. Would they take Drake Maye? And if they did, would he sit behind Russell Wilson? Russ better start winning some games if he's hoping Maye goes to Arizona instead. Which means, after signing that huge deal last year, would Arizona dump Murray? Maybe Murray can win and push New England up in the Maye sweepstakes. Some mock drafts have Michael Penix, JJ McCartney, Quinn Ewers and Bo Nix going in the first round, some in the top 10. But look at the teams most likely to draft, most don't "need" QBs.

Bills were lucky to get out of the Giants game with a win and now Allen is injured.

Fields now has an injured thumb. Jimmy G out again but the back issue doesn't sound too serious.

Not buying the Bills at the moment even though the Miami win was a good one. Cowboys needed that win badly and now head into the bye week. The Chargers are the masters of close losses and it looks like another mid season for them at best, at least so far but it can change quickly. The 49ers had three of their stars injured yesterday but Deebo and Williams are not serious while CMC is waiting for scan results on his ribs.

Yes the Texans have some good young talent. Their future looks bright

So far, just over 1/4th of the way through the season, you're not far off. Rodgers out for likely the season. Same now with Richardson. Murray is of course still out. The casualty list of players, including QBs, are already piling up worse than a triage unit from the Battle of the Bulge. The oddities are guys who aren't starters, but either minor play, or practice have done them in (Mullens, Bennett, more). It also looks like the Lions are going to just sit Hendon Hooker all season and never play him, even though Nate Sudfield was lost in pre-season, leaving the Lions with just Goff and Bridgewater. The following QBs are hurt enough to miss games...I'm not even going to list it, because it's about half the league! Just look for yourself! (Link).

Herbert was off. He missed too many 'easy' throws, and the throws that he did connect on weren't even on target. That being said, his numbers weren't bad, but there in lies the caveat with stats, they don't show the big misses that would have been big gains/scores.

DAL could finish third in their division...then what? LAC could finish second in their division (no one expects them to beat out KC).

I don't know if Chicago would be willing to dump Fields & roll the dice with Williams. Besides, I think Williams is overrated - much like Bryce Young is. I think what is more likely to happen is Chicago will dump Eberflus & maybe hire someone like Bieniemy to work with Fields. And they would probably use those 1st rd picks to draft some top offensive talent to immediately step in & improve the O.

I doubt the Broncos would draft a QB in the first round as long as Wilson is still here. Whatever happens this season in terms of not making playoffs will be chalked off as just "another bad season" for the Broncos because of extenuating circumstances. Wilson is going to say he doesn't have the offensive talent like Mahomes, Allen, Hurts, Purdy, etc, has. He's going to say that his defense is so bad that if it was just a "bad defense" he could be winning more than losing. Payton is going to say this is a bigger undertaking that he thought & that 2023 was just a rebuilding year for the Broncos. Lol.

I see the Wilson-Payton combo back again in 2024 for another go at it. However, this will be it - no playoffs & both Payton & Wilson will be run out of town faster than you can say John Elway can't draft quarterbacks. Lol

Yep...I sure do remember that, and one prediction I wish I was wrong about. That casualty list you linked is unbelievable.

The backups are really going to have to step up. So many of these guys who make the 53 do nothing more than play on special teams & collect a decent paycheck. Now they've got to step in on their offensive or defensive position & make a difference. The skill position guys have to become playmakers & show they're NFL caliber players. And some of these rookie backups are going to have to grow up real fast.

And most important of all, these veteran backup QBs have got to play much better. Tyrod Taylor was terrible the other night. C'mon...man, how long has he been in the league now? Lol

It was confirmed today that Richardson will have season-ending surgery on the shoulder of his throwing arm.

The biggest & strongest of the QBs drafted in this class tears up his shoulder so bad that he needs surgery. Only 4 games played this year & his rookie season is done almost as soon as it got started. He'll essentially have to start all over again next year - will that shoulder be the same?

I don't know what Irsay is all happy about - he comes out with this stupid article after losing his franchise QB for basically an entire season. Lol
