They're currently 7th in team rushing averaging 125 per game. A large part of that is Hetbert - the team's 3rd leading rusher with 462 (30 ypg) - which puts him #2 behind Allen in QB rushing yards.

And Herbert is first in the league in yds per scramble with 11.9 (no other starter has above 10 yds per scramble).

He's also the most pressured QB with that depleted OL playing with 3 backups. They currently have the 3rd worst OL.

It'll be interesting to see how he handles the ferocious pass rush of the Texans in the big upcoming game. When the Texans beat the the Bills, they did a number on Allen sacking him a career high 8 times & picking him off twice taking him completely out of his game.
I may have misread the graphic yesterday.. Said Herbert is leading the league in being sacked..

Very impressive game by Purdy. One bad throw and a whole lot of good ones. 5, count 'em, FIVE touchdowns. Granted, the Indy D was flat, but they have been solid most of the season, sometimes very good, and Purdy just picked them apart, almost at will. Someone convince me he's not capable of leading them to big wins.

While Warner is out for the season, and I've said before SF has a cupcake schedule, they looked like they could beat almost anyone tonight. The games against Chicago, then Seattle, loom large. Win both, they win the division, and I believe HFA.

49ers offense showed up even though they lost Pearsall. Colts defense was off their game. 49ers held Taylor in check. Hopefully Kittle is okay, some type of ankle sprain by the sounds of it. Two more wins and the 49ers can get a bye but it won't be easy. Rams drop to third in the NFC West ! Purdy, Kittle, CMC and Jennings all played well on offense. Rivers looked pretty good until he had to move or go downfield.

I would imagine the Steelers, Texans and Patriots really aren't interested in having the Bills visit them in the WC round (should it play out that way). I don't think the Broncos, Jags or Chargers will really be that interested either. But they'd have a better shot I'd think.

Having been to Kansas, including right in that area, it makes me wonder where the heck the money is coming from to afford such a stadium? Seriously, anyone here been through KC in Kansas? Leavenworth? Overland Park? Topeka? Wichita? You go through there you don't see money. You see a lot of run down neighborhoods, old strip malls with franchise stops. Businesses barely alive, not kept up in years. Some shops boarded up. Much of it looks like it never recovered from the Great Recession. It's kind of...sad actually. Here's what a lot of it looks like. Someone from there tell me what I missed?

Rivers did give up a pick 6..that was a blunder, for the most part no reliable running and decent offensive line. Coaching was outstanding, Colts had a great game plan to exploit everything 49ers defense doesn't do well.
Colts defense was ridiculous.. Defense overall was terrible on and off the field, matchups with linebackers were just bad design.. San Francisco had a really almost cartoon looking speed advantage over Colts defense. Purdy spread the ball around perfectly and Indy had no answer for Christian McCaffrey he played very good. SF schemes were outstanding and just played in your face football from first possession. Textbook use of designated blocking fullback.

Real nice guy:

Only 2 games? Should be 4 games with the suspension carrying into the postseason and/or next season. This behavior is inexcusable. Crap like this is what gives the NFL a thug reputation. These are professional athletes making zillions of dollars. The Commissioner needs to have some gonads with a severe punishment sending a massage that this behavior will not be tolerated!

Definitely very impressive - in addition to those 5 strikes he compounded a 126 passer rating. He's a lot more mobile than I thought. He moves well out of the pocket & can throw some darts when rolling out to his strong side. And some nice grabs by Kittle & vintage CMC. I think if the big 3 here can stay healthy, this could be a team headed to the big stage. If they were to make the SB, I wonder if movingtarget is going to have a big SB party?

I've never been to KC let alone even set foot in the state of Kansas. Though I'm a native of Colorado & we share a long, flat border with Kansas, I've never been to that state (been to Oklahoma & Nebraska m...but no Kansas. Lol).

I don't know how the Bills would do on the road against those teams you mentioned - wouldn't it depend on Allen? It's been a strange season for him where he's played like Superman in most games but some others a total dud. He performances were rock bottom against Houston & Atlanta, and they cut it real close against Cleveland. He was pretty much ineffective in the 2nd half which was probably due to the foot injury. McDermott abruptly says he's day to day & should play this Sunday (but you wonder if this is a more concerning injury that McDermott is being evasive about).

Almost. Here's the top 5 most sacked QBs after week #16:

Smith (52)
Ward (51)
Herbert (49)
Maye (46)
Lawrence (37)

Here's their QBR & ranking:

Smith 34.4 (30th)
Ward 30.6 (34th)
Herbert 61.5 (11th)
Maye 73.4 (1st)
Lawrence 55.0 (20th)

Here is the paradox & brain teaser - how can Herbert & Maye be two of the most sacked QBs but yet have high QBRs? Makes absolutely no sense since one of the metrics in the QBR calculations is sacks. And here's one for you: Herbett is 4-0 this season when sacked 5 or more times. And Lawrence was sacked 5 times in the win over the Broncos.

So, IMO, "sacks" don't mean as much & are an overrated metric for a defense. You can't have 3 of most sacked QBs in the league performing at a high level & winning. These are highly talented QBs performing exceptionally well & making plays outside their sack window.

A funny meme about the chiefs and when they started going downhill.

Sacks, like turnovers, are a stat that are overhyped. Too much emphasis is put on their value because they are dramatic.

As to DK, he claimed the guy was taunting him and saying bad things to him. But fans have done this to players forever. I mean, as long as there has been sports, period. Athletes are trained to ignore negative fans, and focus on their job. I mean, has DK ever been to Philadelphia?!

Literally all DK had to do is say we’re winning the *** game. Fans talk crap, it’s nothing new at all and you can throw it back at them. If I was the fan I’d have flipped over the rail when DK pulled him to get an even bigger claim.

The reminders about a 30 year gap since the last SB win are getting a bit old............I was already a grumpy old man..........

That was SB XXIX in 1995 where the 9ers beat the Chargers led by MVP Steve Young. Wouldn't that be interesting if the 9ers & Chargers make it to the SB this season after all those years? You'd have Herbert vs Purdy...Harbaugh vs Shanahan.

Btw, do you live in Frisco? I live in a suburb in the Denver-metro about 20 mins from the stadium. I think Alpe is in Portland, Shadow in Vegas (I wonder why he's not a Raider fan? Lol) & Unchained in SoCal (?)

What a lineup of bad games tomorrow. Chiefs have to go with their 3rd string QB & they just signed Shane Buechele from the Bills' PS as their backup. Also, Rice, McDuffie, Thornton & Watson all placed on IR. I image their motivation level for this game is near zero. The coaching staff just wants to get the season over with.

Broncos just need to get the win & get out of there hopefully without getting any players hurt. If they have a sizable lead at halftime, I'd sit Nix & let Stidham take over. The way these QBs have been getting injured over the last couple of weeks, why take any chances with Nix? The last thing Payton needs is to lose his franchise QB to some foot/ankle, knee, or hand injury with the playoffs right around the corner.
