Weather forecast for the Bronco game Sat @ 2:30 PM MT is sunny, mid-40s & light winds - perfect football weather (well maybe not for Allen - he might like it colder? Lol).

Dre Greenlaw returned to practice after missing the last two games with a hamstring - so he looks good to go. In fact, the Broncos are completely healthy on both sides of the ball.

In addition to Allen never playing here in Denver before, he's going to have to deal with the crowd noise - one of the loudest NFL venues (I think 2nd only to Seattle in crowd noise?).

Don't you think this Texan D will make life miserable for Maye? Look at what they did to Allen & Mahomes earlier this year. Both had the worst games of their careers with Allen behind sacked a career high 8 times. And last week Stroud turns the ball over 3 times & the D still kept the Steelers out of the endzone. McDaniels & Maye have to be looking at film thinking how in the heck can we throw the ball against these monsters?

They’ll make life miserable but Patriots are better at spreading the ball out, less likely to abandon the run, and have a good defense as well. Vrabel is also better at changing things up. Maye has been a better and more consistent quarterback than Allen and especially Mahomes along with Patriots offense being better. Only way Texans win is if CJ keeps the turnovers down. Put the Patriots in instead of Steelers and Texans are leaving with a loss. Plus Texans are in a shorter week having to travel again to an even colder environment.

Can the defense carry the team and win the Super Bowl, yes absolutely but their weakest link is the offense as will be shown again on Sunday.

The patriots haven't seen a defense like this all year. Have you seen what Anderson Jr & Hunter look like? A couple of jacked monsters with incredible quickness for their size. In fact, the Patriots haven't really played anybody this year with that cheesy schedule:

Forecast for the game in Chicago is high temp of 19 and nighttime low of 9. Since it's the late game it should already be in the mid-teens during the game. Wind about 15 mph (though always seems windier there). I don't think games in the 20s this time of year are a big factor, but that forecast will probably effect the play. Though I'm not sure it always hugely benefits the "cold weather" team. Sometimes favors the better running team. The bigger factor (I think) are the more random dropped passes, wind blown field goal attempts and punts. As for QBs, smaller hands is a drawback in cold weather.

We're in a very mild stretch of weather in Seattle this week, and that is supposed to continue through Sat, with highs in the 50s. Non-factor for the game. Crappy for skiing though!
Come to my neighborhood. We have snow and sun. Curated snow but better than good days in PNW, IMO. 1 hr flight from Seatac to Hailey and no crowds.

Having been to Seattle, it's the loudest place I've been two. I think it's a combination of the shape of the stadium, plus it's pretty much always full, and a tradition fans have kept up once they had that reputation. Never been to Arrowhead, but I understand it's pretty loud too. They claim they hold the world record for being the loudest. But from all I can tell from people who have been all over, Seattle is consistently the loudest. Saints, Vikings, Packers all have loud fans.

Arrowhead may be a more intimidating place to play. The place is aging, the owners won't put any money into it, Jon Gruden said there's a lot of concrete heading back to and into the locker rooms, and when you're heading down the tunnel and hear the crowd it's a lot like a penitentiary. Eagles/Lincoln has to be the most hostile place to play though, period. Fans there earned that reputation, and relish it.

With all those endorsements, we should just pencil in Justin Herbert for MVP next year, and probably a couple super bowl wins over the next few years. I'm expecting to see it, and understand these last few years have been an anomaly. Next year we'll finally see the real Justin Herbert, and for a few years after. Sure.

Patriots played better against the same teams the Rams did on their schedule. Good thing we’ll see what happens in a couple days.

That was quick. Have the Giants even fulfilled the Rooney rule?
Maybe they did quick facetime interviews with Tomlin, Morris & McDaniel? Lol.

One thing Harbaugh better do is hire a real good QB coach & OC. If Dart is their franchise guy - and he does show some potential - they need to straighten him out on his playing style. You can't have him getting several concussions every season because he wants to play Josh Allen & try to run over people. Allen is a one of a kind when it comes to that style of running & these young dual-threats shouldn't be trying to emulate him.

Dart has a good arm & looks to have playmaking potential - Harbaugh better not blow it with him.

I'd hope that Allen has learned his longevity relies on selective running. Concussions are not a small thing.

Pats a more complete team than the Texans. Also I think have a coaching edge. Game could be a real grind. One of those 13-9 final scores.
They may be a more complete team but how in the heck are the Patriots going to generate any offense against the ferocious Texan D that's been terrorizing QBs all year long?

Take a look at this video. These are each of the career high 8 sacks on Allen when the Texans destroyed him in that game earlier in the season. First of all no one could get open (the Texan's secondary is ranked 2nd best in the league behind the Broncos - no surprises there). Secondly, Allen was contained & inescapable from the relentless pass rush. You can see in the video he tried everything to escape the pressure, but Anderson Jr, Hunter & the blitzing LBs are just too quick.

View: https://youtube.com/shorts/1Cu-Gl_i7Ps?si=pQUEywkc8U2YtoVx

I remember watching this game & seeing the frustration on Allen as he slammed the tablet down on the sidelines. They also showed images of Joe Brady in the booth slamming his pen down & shaking his head in disbelief. Brady had nothing to circumvent that pass rush.

Allen ended up getting sacked a career high 8 times throwing 2 picks with a passer rating of 67, and for first time in a long time, he had no TD passes or rushing scores. Simply unbelievable that Superman could be shut down like that.

Now I suppose McDaniels could come up with some ingenious game plan up his sleeve that would neutralize the Texan pass rush & allow Maye success in throwing the ball. But I would have to see it to believe it as no other OCs had been able to design a game plan that's been very effective in throwing the ball against the Texan D.

C'mon Shadow, you didn't specify the Pats-Texans, you asked the question under the Broncos post I made. Lol.

Alright here you go:

16-13 Texans.

If the Pats beat the Texans they will do it the way the Seahawks and Broncos did. A long, slow grind. I don't actually think the Texans are so good because of their defense they are unbeatable.

Sucks about new stadium being yet another dome. Especially in an area where the weather isn't that terrible. We may reach a point where teams get so comfortable, when they go to Buffalo, Green Bay, guys actually call out sick out of fear of having to play in the cold, when 16 out of 17 of their games are played in 70 degree "weather".

So, who is doing the Super Bowl halftime show? (Just want to make sure I watch it, if it's worth the while. )

Other than that, which team is looking relatively healthy and competent right now, and looks like it can withstand further physical punishment?
