As if the clenbuterol incident wasn't enough, a 14 year old female diver was suspended for two years following a refusal to submit to an anti-doping test on the 9th of December, 2009.

I'm just guessing, but since clenbuterol can be used in the treatment of asthma or other breathing disorders it is possible a diver with asthma might benefit from it... a legitamate medical need.

The diver was not positive for Clen, she was suspended for skipping a doping test. Incidentally, she had already quit the sport, but once in the doping test pool, athletes must stay be available for one year for testing after retirement.

As for the 13-year-old swimmer, his mother claims he was recovering from bronchitis and she grabbed the wrong bottle of cough medicine for him to take a dose before the meet. So the question now is whether cough medicine contains Clenbuterol.

And when did they start testing 13 and 14 year old athletes for domestic competition? WOW. Times have changed.

13 year-olds don't dope. Parents do. That's child abuse.

And the doses are actually not small and many parents are using it for their children. Wonder how an otherwise "banned" substance is being used in children.
