New bike day thread

I think I found my dream bike! 2024 Santa Cruz Megatower, just finished the build a couple weeks ago. Been raining cats and dogs in Nor*Cal so I haven't really been able to put it through its paces in the gnar, but everything I've ridden is telling me it's the best fit I've ever had on a bike. Not a fast climber by any means, but gets over EVERYTHING in a way I've never experienced. Clearing stuff I've never gotten over before, never even close. Eats up the downs. So comfortable. I think the three big things are the size-specific chain stays which put me in the perfect position, the overall geometry at a 77.5° seat tube and a 63.5° head tube, and the stack, which is really high and perfect for a long-torso, short-arm kinda guy. I love this thing!

Anyone else get a new MTB or Gravel bike recently?

I bought the new Canyon Lux Trail CF 9 in the winter, the weather is very unfavourable here but it doesn't stop me putting the kilometres in.

I just went with the Santa Cruz Tallboy myself. It came down to the Tallboy or the Hightower.
Superb bike @red_flanders
No wrong answer, just whatever works for you. Great bike the Tallboy, would love to have one. Cover all that ground and that much capability? Sign me up. But I also love having the big bike whenever I want to just bomb stuff. So fun either way.

Well if it makes you feel any better, I have enough money for this bike 'cause I'm old. :DCertainly wasn't dropping this kind of coin on a bike in my 20's.

Anyway, thanks!
It's really beautiful!! Just put Maxxis Aggressor 2.3 on wife's bike and she loves them.. I keep eyeing a BH Ultralight w Dura Ace and it's got a scuff on non drive side chain stay.. $900 bucks off!!! I have been told that it's all the exposed cables why I am so, so slow.. New bike may not make you faster, but you feel faster!! Enjoy it!!

Wow that sounds awesome! The Megatower is a fantastic choice, especially with that geometryI totally agree that the size specific chain stays make a huge difference it really helps with handling.Glad you're feeling comfortable on it!Can't wait to hear how it performs in the gnarly stuff! As for new bikes I recently got a gravel bike, and I'm also amazed at how well it handles tough terrain.Bikes are such a passion! :)

Somebody else post some new bike day content! Can't believe y'all aren't buying at these prices... :)

Update on the Megatower. Still the best bike I've ever owned, by a long shot. Stupid good.
I'm getting ready to buy my wife an Allied BC40 for her to race (final decision was what she wanted for Leadville). Allied has been really cool to her, she's getting a great deal, and free paint (Miami Vice Green). Shes a bada$$, so I think they like the fact that she'll be on their bikes, and on podiums. I'll post when we get it.

I recently got a Rocky Mountain Altitude Powerplay C70...but I don't want to be E-bike shamed, so I wont post a picture of it. It does let me do those Sunday 30 -70 mile MTB/Gravel rides with her...because it's the only way I can keep up. Actually, that's why she bought it for me, and we do ride together a lot more now. I've named it "Dafaq Do I Care." because she'll be like, "Hey, you want to go out to ________" 40 miles into a ride, and my response is "Dafaq do I care? I got 50% battery left."

Note, I do ride my Otso Warakin Ti most days, but twice per week, I do the E-Bike thing (Sundays and HS MTB team practices). Believe it or not, it actually does make me a better rider. I put it on lower settings, and so far, my climbing has improved overall.
