The interview with Eurosport a few days earlier was interesting. At first Pidcock is much more at ease and happy. Second he said that he want to try for GC to learn towards big(ger) objectives in the future. It reminded me of the 2024 Tour GC discussion between TP and Ineos. He (still) thinks of himself as a GC rider. I'm not.

But hey, even G won the Tour and he was a classics contender.

But Thomas had a great engine. Pidcock doesn't have.

Q 36.5 have been terrible overall. I'd much rather have a conti level italian or venezuelan team for that matter than a bunch of washed up WT riders + "GC Pidcock"

Maybe Pidcock would benefit from being in a more professional WT structure were experienced DS's and team leadership could instruct him on how to get the most out of a GT. His high self-belief, but limited understanding of his own abilities seem to hold him back.

I suggest a move to Ineos Grenadiers at the end of the season.

PCS added him today, was in the list of updates, and now he's gone again. Guess we'll see

Andorra is July 13th and mtb Euros is July 27th

if he rides TdSuisse (only reason is Q36.5 being a Swiss team and they want him there) he'd miss the Val di Sole mtb world cup June 22nd

mtb nationals is inbetween those two dates, would be cool to see him there, especially as he was barred from entering the elite in 2019 (I think because he hadn't done any races before) and had to easily win the u-23's instead.

Some of the hate here for Pidcock is unwarranted.
If some of this commentary was on the Remco thread it will go in to meltdown…
He’s not a terrible gc rider, and a solid rider overall, lots of nice classics results.
It’s hardly out of the question he could get a few top tens in gts, not really worse than most of the other ‘gc’ riders.
