How laterally stiff are wheels built with those hubs? They have significantly reduced the distance between the flanges.

Exactly, the whole point is to go wider not narrower. Imagine how those would feel descending off a mountain screaming into switchbacks at 60mph. Tri-geeks will buy the schidt out of those.

who makes these white wheels? I saw Kenny DeKettle riding them only in the derny, now Stroetinga is riding them at Gent. they have raised airfoils on them for stability at high speeds.

To be the 9000 series groupset.

Obviously CN broke it quite a while ago but now velonews has lots of better info which confirms, but what ever happened to 8000?

Speculating but does that mean there will be a Ultegra 11 Di2 with those numbers???

I read they just skipped 8000 and went straight to 9000, guess to mark it as a super upgrade? Maybe 8000 will be reserved for the intermediate groupo's?

for that price and at 7.4 kg it should have one!
That badge literally has just been stuck on a blank frame, with that kit it is a $1800 bike, tops.

I don't see the I-Drive *** :p

You turn the top cap on the steer tube. They say it does all sorts of wonderful things, but no one can figure out how to work it.

Humm... you need to position the right crank arm at the 2 or 3 o-clock position, then some good old bring back chrome cream.

Well its definitely funny, I guess if you say arm and leg as very common area's you got it covered

Has anyone had the same exact spot of road rash? I know I haven't, well maybe near the last one but it seems I always hit a new spot which adds to the ever increasing spots or scars. Well I have improved on reducing the scars.

At first seeing the thing I thought, it will pop and some gel or space age material will ex-spell from the device and protect you in some way or attempt to protect you. Nope, its just a fricken speed bump that you have to hit just right or it will just fall off once you roll by it. Notice no proof of concept in the video, great marketing.

I think I'll stick to double layers and slide shorts for crits.

If you landed just right on one then I could see you sliding across the asphalt on it. But I wonder what happens if you impact a little to the side of one and it catches on the ground. Does it rip your shorts off?

Maybe you could put a dozen of them on each hip, sort of like medieval studded leather armor.

Fondriest returns to steel in 2012 with the SF2. Columbus Spirit, ftw.

UltraLite Rear Mech:

german-alex-modded-carbon-fiber-sram-X0-derailleur2.jpg

Yet another custom component, rated as super light and of course made of as much carbon as they can (so far), 181 grams (compared to 203 grams of a SRAM Red rear mech).

Light haters need not apply.

I like the way the cable mounts or attaches making it a direct pull instead of the way most derailures are now with all the curves or turns. I know it curves around the bottom but you know what I mean, no more loop to get to the rear derailure after the last stop on the chainstay.

I think they are an interesting concept, not sure if it will pan out but it would be a cool feature if it does improve braking for certain condition/people?

They are suppose to be much more aerodynamic then traditional brakes, one of the reasons they are being used for the P5.
According to Magura hydraulic brakes have no cable friction (smooth braking action, and feel), massive braking power with minimal force, and fine modulatin of braking power.
