Also, Roval wheels are crap and Bjarne most likely wants them nowhere near his team's bikes.

Interesting. I would have thought they were the same (or close enough) to FSA wheels, all being built in a Taiwanese megafactory. But that's just a guess.

They may be assembled in the same factory, but that doesn't mean that they use the same parts (even if the parts are made in the same factory!). Roval hubs aren't the greatest and those stupid fairings make them hard to work on.

Different companies offer different levels of sponsorship and have different requirements to be met. When Saxo was on SRAM, the deal probably required them to also use Zipp components and wheels, as SRAM now own Zipp. As Saxo was running on a shoestring budget at the time, this would have been the easiest path. Shimano only go the full sponsorship package as well, requiring Shimano wheels and Pro finishing kit to be used (like Orica and previously, Orbea) but with Tinkoff now stepping up with some $$$ they are probably buying the groupsets like JV does with Garmin.

AFAIK Specialized aren't so strict in this regard (one of the few things they aren't so dooshy about) and let Bjarne choose the teams finishing kit. Also, Roval wheels are crap and Bjarne most likely wants them nowhere near his team's bikes.

they are using ROVAL wheels since Dauphine' 2014

Were they? Interesting, I didn't notice it, I guess I assumed Saxo were using Zipp as mid season brand changes aren't exactly common

wow, thanks.. it's on sagan's fb page... either they've been training in old kits or he was re-posting a picture from his archive:D

I'm pretty sure given Oleg's massive ego, there's no way he's letting his team ride around with kit on that DOESN'T have his name (or his company's) on it.

The black is too bad, but it's not a terrible idea to put a slogan on the jersey. I can't remember any team doing that in the recent past. After all, a cycling jersey is a surface for advertising like any other. They could also change slogans every now and then to spice things up.

What I don't understand is why they made the stripe in the middle, as well as the little stripe on the sleeves grey, if they used the red from their logo it would have looked way cooler and stood out much more.

Also putting the names of all the riders on there seems pointless and kind of stupid. Maybe it is supposed to boost the team spirit :)
