Well of the first three WT to announce their new kits, Trek don't have a link to a shop on their website, and AG2R's has only been operative since Tuesday, so it seems only Ineos consider it to be a relevant marketing opportunity.
well traditionally cycling racing fans have been more resistant to buying into team kit to wear than fans in other sports (rule #17
) and I think alot of teams are still stuck in their head with that traditional approach so never consider it as a possible commercial opportunity to exploit
Ineos do I suspect, though I cant remember how easy Sky kit was to get to begin with, because of their experience of how it took off as a thing in the UK, and they realised yes you can sell it, people will wear it, and make some money from it.
But Trek, I mean you can get their kit from the Trek race shop, but its easier from BikeO'Bello (bobshop.com), or directly from Santini, and they were advertising it before Christmas even if Trek werent.
the rest, especially in the WWT, SD Worx did sell kit direct, but it wasnt something they pushed alot, and was abit complicated outside the EU, so no idea if they will add their new kit to their shop.
and teams like Canyon SRAM have swapped kit supplier, so will have to wait and see, but even with Rapha, you got only limited subset of the team kit anyway.
I just think most teams havent really fully got the commercials of what they could do with it yet as a revenue stream, maybe theyd focus more on producing well designed jersey patterns, instead of slapping a few ad logos on stuff in whatever colour the kit sponsor pushes as "on trend" if they did.
