I will explain my logic for you. He's just better.

Next year god willing they are all healthy. And we have one heck of a Tour.
Jspear said:In what GT have they competed in against each other lately (besides this Tour)? Can we even compare them against each other if we are only talking about GT's? Don't think so. Have you been watching the whole racing season this year? AC is as good as he was in 2011.

Cookster15 said:Yes I have followed although I concede maybe not a close as you? But in 2011 I remember well AC demoralized the field on the slopes of Etna and they all knew they were racing for 2nd place from that stage onwards (did you follow then?).
My original reply was to the comment that Contador puts Nibali in Red everyday. It is not everyday - it has only been in 2011 Giro.
From my following this season yes AC is the best he has been since 2011 (particularly post ban) - but from what I have read he is still not as good as 2011 Giro where he was on a different level again. Nibali however looks like he is a good as 2013 Giro and far above his 2011 Giro level.
According to results,Better.Jspear said:I agree it's not everyday. The fact is they haven't competed in GT's since then. Thus if we are going to compare them it has to be based on races other than GT's.
But I still think AC is as good as he was in 2011.![]()

Alpe d'Huez said:Agree with the OP, think he would have been up with them by Paris. Maybe not the same horsepower as Froome or Contador, but he was the most prepared it seemed to me entering the race. He was best over the cobbles, and has repeatedly attacked at the right time, and showed that before they dropped out.
Jelantik said:Even though I vote no, to be fair, the answer should be none of the above. Because none of them facing each other at their pinnacle of their form at their TDF. Only the road can actually judge them, not past results or the current TDF. Froome and Contador crashed out. Nibali is the only one in the tour now. So far he is a mile above the rest of the contenders. Like it or not, he is the strongest on the tour without Froome or Contador for comparison.
