Re: Re:

Football? How many Italian teams charged, fined, relegated over match fixing, betting scandals.. teams stripped of titles, relegated, fined. (Champions league qualification brings in huge amounts of money)

British Football, who, Bruce Grobellar?

If you are trying to say that Italian football isnt full of corruption and greed as some sort of example you are barking very much up the wrong tree.[/quote]

I never said that at all

All i said was that the state of sport in the uk was probably worse than in Italy if you look at it from a money and cheating prospective.
And no maybe the english premier league hasn't been riddled with the mafiaesque type match fixing we saw in Italy, But then again Italy don't have cricket matches to fix do they?

Fabio Aru, and his faithful attack dog Nibbles.

how many people do still think Nibali is a nice doper? Contador Froome struck me as nice dopers, but Nibali ? no way.

i remember how much flak Armstrong got for similar actions.

No, this thread is about how Nibali views himself as a symbol of clean sport. The sarcasm that you inject into the heading can only be enjoyed by you, mainly because not everyone shares your sense (or lack there of) of humor. Your whining that a thread you started has been hijacked is comical, and pathetic at the same time...

Nibali's TdF win is looking v dodgy to me, especially in the light of Astana's recent doping revelations. The form he showed there (albeit without Froome and Contador for most of the race) was so far ahead of anything else he has shown in the last couple of years. The same goes for the 2013 Giro. When he's good he's suspiciously good

Seems Nibali found something that gives him certainty for a super peak in TdF. Nobody would risk everything on 1 race especially if he is not that great (because he isn't that great).

So there must be some heavy doping, hard to catch technique that is used on him now, especially since i'm sure he was target tested last year.

Or he already tested positive but ASO is covering it.

The ASO is an organizer, nothing more. They would have a hard time convincing the UCI to cover up a positive test, considering the history they have together among other factors. That's not to say that the UCI wouldn't cover up a positive doping control without being prodded..

they put the motor on the bike only in TdF

today's Nibali is the real Nibali , a mediocre but smart rider who got some GT wins beating nobody.

I would have no problem with that if he would be less cocky with "mother of imbecile" and "symbol of clean sport" stuff.

We all know that.
Winning one Giro, one Vuelta, one Tour, being 2nd at the Giro in 2011 and 3rd in 2010, 3rd at Tour in 2012 and 2nd at Vuelta in 2013 is something that any mediocre rider can achieve. You only need to be smart and lucky.

What a lucky boy he is!

LOL

Regardless of him doping or not, Nibali has had a pretty smooth career trajectory. Flashes of brilliance since he started, winning smaller races, gradually improving in GT's.

Gazzetta today publishes a letter from Nibali's lawyer to UCI licence commission. 'He's a symbol of clean sport.'

Just sayin' ....

Wipe those tears.

You are usually better than this

Perhaps we should write a letter to him too. :D
