I thought Froome was a nice guy at the 2011 Vuelta. When he won the stage he thanked all the fans for coming out and making it such an experience, even though they had been giving him death threats.

I think Alex Dowsett is a very nice guy, although not as famous as Froom

Is he still in the peloton?

Yes, but only did TDU and Catalunya, where he DNF in stage 5. Suspicious... :D ... maybe we should be prepared for sth spectacular, some stories? Last time when he DNF Catalunya, the epic Lotto dismissal story came after that.

I have no idea what´s wrong this time... Normally, the Giro is "his" race. Maybe prepares for TdF.

He´s with Lampre, BTW.

"As some people have come to notice (including myself), the tour of Catalunya in spain was in a word: participation-less.. I’m not going to try and smash everyone’s eye-balls in with different physical and mental reasons trying to justify why I did’nt race, but it wasn’t happening. Obviously!! So what’s the next step you’re asking?… Let’s look further north to an area a little south-west of the Pyrénées mountains named the País Vasco, or Basque Country from an english-speaking perspective. I’ll be starting there in the ridgid chopped up and forested tapography of San Sebastian’s hinterland. The ups-and downs will no doubt kick in some solid stimulation to my little muscles that haven’t yet seen the worlds cycling scene this year, let alone since late October 2010. An interesting proposition no doubt…….

Of late, subconscious elements have crept in slowly and steadily leading to a bogus phase of being so eager to be involved mixed with the slow process of recovery we cannot be 100% sure the first race will be of the highest quality, but thankfully the people surrounding me have blessed me with the confidence to once again feel the heat around the corner. Not to mention a brilliant team who’ve given me the opportunity to once again step it up a notch in order to remain directly driven towards the event I anticipate the most- The Giro D’Italia.. If Iv’e been bleeding in places you cant see, and feeling the affects of doors being locked, I’ve called the people who change the locks, and the gate is open… All I have to do is ‘opan the gate’..

Many people say ‘dont let yourself get attachet to annything you are youre not willing to feel the ramifications around the corner’.. But this corner (as twisted as it may have been) is behind me, and I refuse to look behind as my character fails to let me do so, particularly disliking the place I was sitting in. So I’ll face the concequences I’ve attached myself with. through the assistance of particular and fattest crew of understanding people of these life-style changes. As we amble out of the nutural zone in the race to come, these elements will unquestionably bring about an inner center-punch I have never felf before… And before long, I’ll be in the module that has brought me so much love and enjoyment! Peace Matty L"

In person, I've got the most experience with Dutch riders, so I'll stick to those guys.

For me, one of the nicest Dutch cyclists is Bram Tankink. He's very friendly, open and has a down-to-earth kind of humour. On the other hand, he does have strong opinions and doesn't refrain from voicing them, but I don't think that makes him any less likeable. I don't mind a strong opinion or two.

Thomas Dekker used to be one of the most arrogant guys in Dutch cycling, toying with women, dope, and fast cars (he still has his Porsche). He was a wise-guy and a bit immature, he was how I imagine Sagan to be now. (Although Sagan has accomplished more now than Dekker ever has or ever will.) These days, he seems to be a lot more mature, although I haven't spoken with him since his 'come back'. Still, from what I've heard, his bubble, his world of arrogance and confidence, has burst.

Nice and and humble riders- Contador, Purito, Nibali, Samu, Cunego, Tiralongo, Dr Pozzovivo

Arrogant whiny ***- Sir Wiggins, Cavendish, Andy Schleck, Sagan, Gadret.

Tell me one f..g example of Sagan whinning. :D As far as arrogancy is concerned, you should see this guy in Slovakia riding the byke with kids and speaking to total strangers.

For what I know personally :

Retired riders : Moncoutié, Knaven, Zabel, Laurent Jalabert, Asmaker, Sastre.
Current riders : Rebellin is a very nice guy, like Pellizotti, Démare, Fédrigo, Txurruka, Roy, Perget, Romain Feillu, Flecha, Maté Mardones or Basso.

Guys like Klöden, it's not the same thing...:(

Scarponi is very nice as funny; he's always smiling and always making jokes, even after the hard stages or when he's not at his best.

Agreed. I would add Hesjedal and Phinney to the list.

I know Purito has been mentioned, but I will add his name again. Good guy.

Believe or not Conti is pretty nice, but a bit quiet. Most of his team mates love him to bits.

Canc is hot or cold - you can get on his bad side quite by accident and then he is a bit of a grade A pr!ck.

Chris Horner. Strikes me as a very nice guy and always got a smile on his face, even when he's suffering up a mountain with some of the best climbers in the world.

To drop a few names of nice guys that aren't mentioned yet: Roelandts, Monfort, Cunego, Keisse
Didn't know Keisse was a nice guy? His interviews always seem kind of arrogant.
Actually, I have no idea who are the nice guys in the Belgian peloton. I could image Steegmans, Vanmarcke, Roelandts, Monfort indeed. But that's only based on interviews i've seen.
