Best ninja on that was Kreuziger as I can barely recall seeing him onscreen or mentioned on commentary. Reichenbach was too visible with the national champs jersey and many of the others worked on the front for their leader. Aru was seen on nearly every selective stage dangling metres off the back of the leaders group battling hard to keep up.

Between those the one less seen was Kreuziger, I remember him only for the mechanical in Briançon, Gaudu, de Plus and Bennet have worked on the front, Reichembach and Kangert showed themselves in breaks and Aru, Yates ånd the Martins were seen multiple times hanging on at the back of the group.

This.

There's no competition IMO. When I saw the thread I first thought of him. When I saw the names in the first post I was even more convinced.

I don't think Kangert was in a break a single time in this Tour? Which puzzled me a bit because he seemed like the best bet for EF to win a stage as he seemed to be in better form than Woods, Clarke and Bettiol.

He was visible pulling the main group for quite a while on stage 8, though.

Kreuziger was fairly prominent in the final week. Kelly and Kirby mentioned him several times. Reichenbach stood out hence why I mentioned him because I barely saw the Swiss jersey all tour... Kangert was invisible too for the majority.

I'm wondering if someone ever managed to finish a GT in the top 10 without any stage top 10

Ah well I was following The ITV4 coverage and on that Kreuziger was almost invisible. I did spot Kangert as last man with Uran a few times and up ahead.

I think more anonymous riders were seen this year because the cameras did not have to focus on the continuous true big attacks from actual decent TDF winners Froome and Contador.

The Zubeldia of the top ten is Urán. Had a very good TT but apart from that the most we saw of him was arguing with Nibali on the Iseran.

I saw Martin/Gaudu/Aru/DePlus/Bennett/Yates a lot. I at least saw Kreuziger and Martin sometimes. Reichenbach was visible for his jersey. So Kangert for me.

Buchmann never put an attack.
Uran did go in the breakaway in stage 19... He tried to follow Bernal, but decided to save legs for the last climb, hoping for Bernal to fade.
Bernal attacked on Galibier and what he did on Iseran was a suicidal attack

I feel sorry for a poster here... it must be hard to see Egan in Yellow... somehow it looks like the MAGA hat

Buchmann attacked twice near the finish on the Tourmalet stage and was the one to expose G's shortcomings.

Shoutout to Richie Porte. 5th on the ITT, 10th on the stage to Foix, otherwise always outside the top 10. Finished 11th in the end, a whole 10 minutes ahead of G. Martin. I also can't remember seeing much of the guy.

Yes he was a semi ninja for sure apart from the TT stage really.

The Original Ninja™ was pretty damn close in his GT debut.

Edit: And again in 2014.

Obviously not a Grand Tour, but this year George Bennett was 6th overall in Paris-Nice with a 14th and a 19th place his only top 30 placings. Also pretty impressive.
