Just felt like this post wasn't getting enough attention. ;)

You guys do realize that the rest of the US sporting market (can't speak for other countries) talks similar **** about the bodies of male cyclists. Fortunately, us male cycling fans always have female cyclists to pick on.

You're so proud of being a university student, yet you always bring up such stupid analogies. Comparing tennis to cycling is just silly.

Compared to Rafael Nadal, Mark Cavendish looks very unfit. And now?

Tell me one decent professional female sport(that doesn't require you to be fat or big) where women are that chubby?

I find it a disgrace that track cycling for males has to cut off events, so women can have a few events at the Olympics too. Obviously not professional enough to be an Olympic sport.

Rafa Nadal looks very unfit compared to Greipel ;)

She wouldn't starve to death if she ate a little less and trained a little more, trust me

Meh, stupid to make an issue of it really. Kirsten Wild is a track rider, and one of the bigger women in the field, which makes her one of the stronger sprinters. You would expect a strong woman to do better in the echelons than the likes of Eleonora Patuzzo and Marta Bastianelli, just as you'd expect a tank like Cancellara to deal better with it than Intxausti or Antón.

And it's early February and riders aren't in any form; and there are fewer races for women to be in form in; and the camera angles and styles aren't very flattering either. It's not too ridiculous to have a smile at her not being in great shape; we all had a chuckle at those pics of Salvatore Commesso riding for Meridiana-Kamen a couple of years ago.

Wild will be in better shape in a couple of months' time, but right now it's February. Alberto Contador carried a bit of extra timber to San Luís too.

Cancellara might be big, but he's by no means fat!

Ever seen muscles like that on a woman who isn't on steroids?

I don't expect any female athlete to have muscles like that, but Cancellara has the body of a well trained man. Does Wild have the body of a well trained woman?

When at optimum fitness, sure.

Perfectly put.

She's a PRO cyclist. The fact that it's February is no excuse to look like that. This does nothing for women's cycling.
And what's your point? She doesn't train enough, or something?

For the record, the heaviest pro road cyclist is Rob Goris. It used to be Alex Rasmussen, but then he lost a ton of weight.

Yeah, I knew that. I think it was the Tour of Belgium where the commentators talked a lot about him. He used to be an ice hockey player if I remember correctly, so he's having a hard time "reforming" his body.

Let's face it good looking girls just aren't into cycling.
The ratio of good looking to bad looking is much worse then in other sports.
