That`s an impressive time for sure. I remember back in the days the word always was, to make it to the top level in XC skiing, you have to go sub 9 in 3000m. If you can`t do that, forget about about it.
One day later Lorenzo Romano (who got outsprinted by his younger brother on the 3000m) won the Croce d'Aune uphill rollerski skating racing, ahead of Carollo and Altimiras, who had won the race for 5 years in a row.
On the women's side it was total Gismondi domination, just like last year, but 1min faster, despite the wet road.
Lorenzo Romano did lots of uphill rollerski training this summer, in 8 days he did 8 Alpine Passes and 15,000m of altitude gain between the French, Italian and Swiss Alpes, with the 6th of those 8 days being a rest day.

Itinerario: Col de la Madeleine (1420), salita a Chamonix (diversi sali e scendi), Col des Montels (443), Col de la Forclaz (437), salita ad Arbaz (457)
GIORNO 6: Arbaz
relax, palestra e corsa pomeridiana.
