The finnish strategy seems strange. Haven't they tried this before without any luck too? Maybe they only have one pair they like.

Ok, interesting.meat puppet said:Post race interview niskanen said the no 1 tactic was not to change skis if they are fast enough relative to the leaders. Said had a good second pair too but the one she started with was the best. But finally physique and form were decisive.
Saarinen was happy with the result and planned to change at 25k which she did. She was very happy with the ride today.
So both seem to think the tactic was the right one.

It did work out ok today, but I can't help to feel that Niskanen could have at least been fighting with Kalla all the way in if she changed her skis. Impossible to say of course.

the best imo is nrk direkte (no commercials, hdtv, great commentary and interviews at least an hour before start)

if you can't watch nrk, due to geo restriction, most eurosport channels (i mean the english, french, german...) will air the event. The almost sure source of catching it live is fromsport/lemon sport. explore the listings or click eurosport on the top.

if you can not watch for whatever reason but have an internet enabled phone, a great way to stay informed in real time is using the absolutely great FREE fis app (available for both ios and android - i have both and tested them). you can see in real time not only the timing as they pass through check points, but also their GPS tracks. i use it a lot.

course:
exact same as yesterday for women. total elevation gain i reckon is about 1800 m.
watch for olsson, magificat, cologna, vyleg, poltoranin, sundby... (his only race so he will die to win). i dont think (or dont want) northug will matter in the medals. but he has this strange habit of not caring for my opinion
it will be a lot of fun !!
yep. they went the way most national broadcasters have gone...i guess, to protect their 'intellectual property' and/or to limit the load on their servers to make the service more available for their prime customers...but if you have the skills and enough time to tinker, there are (not to be discussed publicly) ways to go around the restrictions. also, albeit i haven't checked the nrk specifically, there are internet TV portals, that conglomerate 100s of channels from all over the world. since i get by in many languages, i was occasionally able to watch my favourite (normally geo restricted) stations through such portals - totally legally. i guess the portals have no been served legal notices yetKokoso said:I remember days when nrk wasn't geo restricted. Even if I don't understand a word in that language. Sadly, it's no longer.

Seems like the FIS have finally decided to start doing Eurovision broadcasts like IBU have been doing for the last 5 years, meaning you can always catch the races live, albeit without commentary.python said:if your local tv is not broadcasting the queen event, there are several ways to stay abreast.

for some reason, we often see sundby unstable or spaced out as if he was very nervous or stressed out.Libertine Seguros said:Sundby then trips over his own feet coming out of the change.
