that finland lost 10 sec in just 2.5 km suggests shervotkin is not exactly hitting a break in front of sundby right now...the question is will he be able to sustain it when the bearded asthmatic 11 year his senior decides to stop 'sucking ' the youngster's skis. cologna is on fire.
And so is Hellner
isn't the hell and fire are connected ;)

7 km over and sundby is pouring pressure on...so far chervotkin sticks in but visibly suffering...

the promised 30 seconds dont look all that realistic anymore

Chervotkin should just let go of Sundby instead of exploding
You say? "but it's a healthy sign that he wants gold and nothing else!"
You've changed your mind, didn't you?

I don't care that Sundby is that much better than Chervotkin at this point, he was sucking wheels for what, about 8km? In these conditions that's big.

Wow, one of the best relays ever, ful throttle right from the beginning.
The Freestyle part is extremely difficult.
Maybe the snow is too soft for Ustiogov.

These soft, slow conditions don't suit Ustiugov. He is in top form, or very close to it, but he is a big strong guy so it will be tough, even for him.

Sundby flying
The Hellner group was faster on the last k
Faster for whole second, mostly downhill. Compared what Sundby endowed them on previous kilometres it's literally nothing. What's the point?
I thought it was overall a bit underwhelming, but I'm probably too harsh.

What a battle between Kroogh and Ustiogov. Both are absolutely hitting the wall. Simply epic. :surprised: :surprised: :surprised:

That's it. Ustiogov is totally grilled. He only keeps going on pure will. Superb effort by Krogh. All time classic battle! Props to both of them! :surprised: :surprised:

Okay and Kroogh isn't even breathing at the finish
I saw him lying on the ground?

Heikkinen made a huge mess of that.

Look what he did right after crossing the line. Celebrating, screaming, posing. Then after a minute he decides to lie down.
