Can someone tell my why Svahn didn't do the relay, but is now racing the 30km race? If she wasn't feeling well she probably wouldn't race such a hard race 2 days later.

Diggins actually doing the sensible thing and skipping this one, I'm surprised. She actually had a reasonable schedule this WC, very unamerican. I'll be cheering for Niskanen and Hennig tomorrow.

Pellegrino was really down after the race, but he's actually racing the 50km race, a bit of a surprise.

No problems at all with Svahn, just that she had not good enough results to earn a spot in the relay team. Will be intresting to see her against Ribom tomorrow.

I fully support the Russian ban, but I'd have like them to get a pass for today. Mainly I want to see Klaebo and Bolshunov needle each other.
This looks like a pretty strong Norwegian team, but it's impossible to tell with no competition.

If you really want somebody to get under Bolshunov's skin, there's only one man for the job. Joni Mäki is your man!

Well this Norwegian team had Krüger and no Iversen so I think that it would have been really close possibly ending with a sprint between Klæbo and Ustiugov instead of the 'easy' win the Russians had last year.

Sweden failing in another really this season and glad that Finland got into the podium after coming close yesterday. Germany in third is a little surprising too, Italy was just bad.

Even without the fall, broken poles, then a wrong pole length, getting the right one and De Fa breaking a ski and having to ski with 2 different skis (from different ski companies) I feel like they wouldn't have gotten a medal with those conditions on such a hard track.

Dobler being so strong was a big suprise, he closed that gap and then he looked stronger than Poromaa on the long climb and on the sprint climbs.

How do you do/separate professional sport from politics?

I think it's next to impossible, but I am sure we're all trying our bestest here.

This really is the most bizarrely/strictly moderated forum I've ever been on. No swearing, no politics, its almost like they don't understand what the Internet actually is.

No Krüger for the 50k. He seems like a calm guy but that message must be hard to understand after his two individual gold medals before in these championships.

Also no Holund.

The Norwegian team consists of Klæbo, Golberg, Røthe, Tønseth, and Iversen.

Roethe over Holund is a bit strange, he can really be hit and miss in classic races. Didrik finally getting to race after his good results this season is fine in my book.
That said, of course I'm all on the Niskanen hype train for that race.

Oh well, Holund and Krüger have the chance to strike back one week later on the Holmenkollen...

I have to say, the Italian women are really surprising me this wc.
Ganz is not here because of her heel injury, otherwise there might be 3 Italians in the front group atm.

That jump of Riiber was outrageous. 147m on 138m hill is maasssive. He should be the clear favorite for today.

He has +1min over all the strong skiers, so it's looking really good for him.
I'd put only Lamparter as consistently faster skier than him. And even if he is fast enough to catch Riiber, I think the Norwegian will smoke him in the sprint.
All the other are +2min.
But hey, it's Riiber, we've seen him involved in many strange incidents.
