We were equally wrong. Amundsen har cooked himself trying to break Klaebo.I think that’s a wrong analysis. Amundsen not giving any gifts here.
I think Amundsen/Kruger gave Poroma a gap to see what he got and if he had pusher on they wouldve attacked up to him.
I think Amundsen is very confident that he will drop Klæbo up from the stadium now. Its been a hard race, Klæbo have been suffering for a long time now and Amundsen are always backing himself.
He has also just proven to the world that you don't need the Northug theatrics at the finish. He just went deeper than I've ever seen him go before to win that race, and we didn't get the 15 minutes of rolling around that apparently "everybody" does. Or in fact any rolling around at all.Whatever people think of him he's incredible, and doesn't owe anyone entertainment over results.
Also there's a lot of bitter Bolshunov nuthuggers going to need a hug about now, and I don't even like Klaebo.
GOAT. The hardest race for him to win, everyone riding against him and he still does it.
Val di Fiemme classic mass start 2022?Deserving victory no questions about it ofc. Probably his best race ever.
How many total wins did they each have when Russia was kicked out?Klaebo did well in a weak field. He should enjoy his 6 Golds against weak opposition, his Daddy will be back next year.
Remember kids in Distance Championship races
Bolshunov 7 - Klaebo 0
Why would Russians be back? Has that been announced?Klaebo did well in a weak field. He should enjoy his 6 Golds against weak opposition, his Daddy will be back next year.

good race for a mass start, but this would’ve been absolutely legendary as a individual start
Yea, I think that's true - it's both correct and academic. It takes probably a 0,1% chance of winning the sprint and makes it a 1% chance of winning the sprint. Klæbo smartly (and I don't know why nobody tried to cut him off from doing so) taking to the front to slow the pace just before every short climb once he'd survived the big one and Amundsen had been dropped, and Poromaa stumbling when he made the decisive move that got rid of Krüger meaning he lost a bit of momentum and took longer to get up to optimum attack pace were a couple of factors, but I don't think Poromaa was realistically dropping Klæbo either way.Imo Poromaa made a mistake by opening a bit a gap on the inside before the final corner that allowed Klaebo to pass him. If he enters that corner first he has a better chance, even if it probably didn't matter in the end.
He had multiple very good classic distance wins, but never anything like that in skating. I think this is his best race as well.Val di Fiemme classic mass start 2022?
The only point was when it went down to 3 and 2, when Nyenget and Amundsen chased down Poromaa's attack, Krüger made Klæbo do the pacing back on. But then they towed him around like domestiques until Amundsen decided to channel his inner Iivo Niskanen and drop everybody and then himself. But then, that's how that Northug tactic works, sit on the back and bluff that you could get dropped at any moment, then work your way through the traffic as they steadily tire themselves out until you can sprint at the end. They rode against him as much as UAE rides against Pogačar. No breakaways, no letting him pull the group.
Yes should have done what Sundling did yesterday but Klaebo would probably pass him on the outside due to better techniqueImo Poromaa made a mistake by opening a bit a gap on the inside before the final corner that allowed Klaebo to pass him. If he enters that corner first he has a better chance, even if it probably didn't matter in the end.
If he stays on the inside Klæbo pass on the outside. It is a long straight there, no chance to block and Klæbo comes first to the corner anyway. If anything, Poroma didn’t work hard enough over the final hill top to ensure maximum speed. That would’ve been the only chance to maybe reach the corner first.Imo Poromaa made a mistake by opening a bit a gap on the inside before the final corner that allowed Klaebo to pass him. If he enters that corner first he has a better chance, even if it probably didn't matter in the end.
She'll win by by a huge margin, i suspect Ebbas 'Championship shape' will be exposed.Today was definitely an absolute sufferfest, I‘m suspecting Johaug will try to massacre everybody from km 0 tomorrow.
So Klaebo finished 1st*, 2nd and 1st in the last 3 50km WC races. Not bad for a sprinter.
