Now I understand the % grading method for hills, what would be usual to expect to meet on routes and races in the South/ South West of England?

I live in Surrey, where the climbs are generally short but sharp - many are pushing 20%. Think Flanders. Some of the roads are pretty **** quality as well. Adds to the fun in my opinion. One of my favourite climbs is so covered in so much grime and grit your back wheel slides out because the speeds are so low. Pitches up past 15% too.
