Good news for all parties that the Gee saga is finally sorted. We'll maybe never know the figure that Gee had to pay, but something commonsensical was obviously sorted out. I wonder if anyone will take him for their CQ team.

Not mindblowing incoming transfers today, but what can you expect at this time of the year. Still one spot left of course.....

Smith looked an interesting prospect ten (!) years ago at Hincapie, now he's just an experienced helper.

They talk Tene's sprinting up in the article, but I see him more as part of a train for Koggy or maybe getting his own chance on slightly lumpier days. It was a bit of a toss-up between him and Kretshcy for this spot I feel. I might have gone for the German.

On the TDU this year:

We’re still going to have a strong team, but we’ll probably be focusing more on stages this time with guys like Ethan Vernon and also Jake Stewart who is his lead-out man and can sprint himself.

Plus Strong and Gilmore for more selective finishes I guess.

Staying in Australia, a strong 4th for Goold in the U23 TT. Not bad as an E1.

Confirmation of the team and stage hunting goals at the TDU. Vernon could well be in with a shout on the prologue.

No sign of the devo squad on the initial list of invited teams to l'Avenir. Mind you there's no Groupama or Decathlon either.

Missing out wouldn't be totally unfair. The twenty man squad has 5 over aged riders and 8 first years and then from the remaining 7 there's nobody that really screams out as a must invite rider.

They still could get in of course with some early season results to bolster their chances.

Interview with the boss of the devo junior team (Team Tiepolo).

One of the things he explains is why the team is now Austrian registered. It's because the current Italian rules state that junior teams can only have one foreign rider and NSN wanted six. He thinks it's a rather outdated rule and should be changed. However his main objective is still develop riders from Friuli and would drop the NSN link if they moved the goalposts or wanted to change the identity of the team too much.

Nice prologue result as hoped for with Vernon, but an unsatisfactory sprint today. Looked in a good position, but started the sprint too late? and got boxed in? Didn't see enough of the overhead shots to be sure.

Strong was involved in a crash today. Again not sure how badly affected he is. It could be that Gilmore will get a chance tomorrow.

Anybody see in Benson's latest post what transfers NSN should be looking at for next year? Hindley would probably be a fair guess. Maybe I'll have a go at guessing some more on another day.
