Yuck how ugly is that yellow jersey mixed with the pink of EFE.

Goodness me this is James Bond speeding down the coastline levels of view, Spanish tourism board must be rubbing their hands together watching this.

Valverde struggling with his age. If he was Michael Woods age (35) he would destroyed him on this Murito. Lol.

Why did they have the stage finishing so early? Without any other race today, it would be a good opportunity to showcase this stage.

It's a bummer because was ready for an hour of live cycling and when I'm ready to tune up I see it's already finished.
Looks like they want to have the same finish time every day and minimise overlap with the weekend races in Belgium

Woods is always amazing on this kind of slopes.
I can think of just a few riders who can rival him on these short and steep climbs nowadays. Pogi, Rogla, February Quintana and a Yates. If it's less than 2km we can add Alaphilippe.

Maybe also Simon Yates in peak shape, but that's about it.

Lol, Rubén Fernández suddenly showing signs of life on the same hill where he put in one of the most random performances of recent GT history by beating all the favourites (Valverde, Froome and Chaves were closest to him) and getting the red jersey back in 2016.

To be fair, he was 11th in the mountaintop finish in the Tour de la Provence two weeks ago, so there were signs of better shape already.

That's why I wrote a Yates (not A as Adam). Whoever of the two is in peak form at the time. We rarely see both of them in peak shape at the same race lately, but Adam is more consistent in the last few seasons.

I'm not sure anybody could follow him on a wall like this, maybe only Pog and Rog. Rusty Woods is a heir of Joaqium "Purito" Rodriguez.

Speaking of Purito: in 2012 he climbed Mirador de Ezaro 12 seconds faster than Woods today. I thought it'd be closer.

Climbing time wasnt super fast. Rog was only 20s slower with a bike switch at the and after 35 minutes of ITT

Could be some differences in stage 3 but it should come down to the ITT - Woods will need at least thirty seconds.
