Wonder if the publication of the Christoph Basson's book will shed any light on the skeletons still in the closet from the 90s and the Festina era. Luckily now we are in the clean era ;)
I hope that Neil Stephens' Teflon coating gets stripped off and he finally faces the music. The constant cr@p I hear from Aussie Fred's about how "clean" Orica is makes me want to retch

its the samson mullet.

if someone cuts off his mullet, like samson, there goes the teflon.

he is like a surfer out of Fast Times At Ridgemont High. except he is a cyclist. Actually, amalgam, Fast Times with American Fliers. And Point Beak.

a gestalt of Point Break, American Fliers, and Fast Times At Ridgemont High with Neil Stephens the protagonist lead.

And someone does the Samson thing, and cuts off his mullet.

Meanwhile, some actual news - the Abbott government this week cut funding for the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority Advisory Group, which is an independent advisory board. Like many boards, it exists to provide advice from without of the bureaucratic and political environments. Functions are being merged within the Department of Health.

Nothing as yet on their website about the changes:

Bassons does mention an Australian rider as having carried EPO with then after the Tour in 98 when everyone was taking no risks. Seemingly the rest of the team were ****ed with the rider taking such chances. Wasn't Stephens tho.

It was a rider who was a stagiaire and that would equate to an athlete who crossed from another sport. Everyone can figure it out for themselves.

The same thing has happened with other external advisory boards, for instance some divisions of the CSIRO. Previously, members of such boards were appointed by the Minister responsible, now the members are chosen by the board of the organisation themself. Supposedly to streamline the process and find new efficiencies
